Discount

Has anybody who has recently purchased a MCS in the UK managed to negotiate any discount?

Try doing a search on this as it has been raised many times before

The general concensus seems to be that you're very unlikely to get any true discount but you may be able to get an odd delaer fit option thrown in, or TLC and the likes.

Apologies for the repetition, but I did try searching past messages before posting, without any luck.

One of the threads regarding this is http://www.mini2.com/forum/general-discussion/42285-discount-new-mini-cooper-s-uk.html. As Soggy says, no real chance of a discount on a car, but maybe on the options. Although TG this month are saying a discount is available in Europe.

About 4 weeks ago I ordered my MCS and got rubber mats and the TLC thrown in plus mud flaps fitted at cost, but nothing of the cost of the car. I did get the extra cost of the new MCS Chilli Pack knocked down from £130 to 100 which is better than nothing

Italy

I'm interested to know how the list price compares with here in Italy. Here the Cooper S lists at 22080 euros. Not sure about the exact exchange rate at the moment, but that's around 14000 quid. My order, with Chili pack and metallic paint is costing me 23100 in total. Seems like we brits are still paying over the odds.

discount

just bought an S, offered me £270.00 (new disc as invoice) + TLC. Better than a kick in the nether regions, told them what another dealer offered me. seemed to work. I really didn't try too hard kept feeling seduced by the S smiling at me in the corner!!

My MCS should have cost £16.8k and I got it for £16.3k and the TLC chucked in, free supgaguard, rucksack full of cleaning stuff, and Wire Keyring. There was a figire of arround £500 put the the special allowence section. This was given to me coz aof all the hassle with my previosu car!

Not forgetting the dealer gave me a full refund on my previous MINI, let me cash in the Tax (£95) & on that car I also got TLC & free chrome pipe.

Guess I am one of the lucky ones!!

I was so upset that my local dealer did not even want to give me TLC or anything on a minimally specced Cooper S that I imported one from Belgium. Even with the cost of a year's warranty to match the English 3 years I have saved almost 3K and as a result the car has most of the options because of the savings. I think I was a little lucky with the exchange rate which I fixed when I ordered the car but we still pay an awful lot more in this country. The car is Uk spec and it must be mad when a car is made in the Uk shipped to Belgium then transported on a lowloader back to the Uk and it saves money!!!

nice! - but you'll soon see your £3k saving disappear when you come to sell or trade!

Already been offered 2.5 K more than I paid so I don't believe people care if it is imported as long as it has a european certificate of conformity it is indeed identical. Since my vehicle was unregistered when imported it does not even have info on it showing that it was imported.
