Offline | Ordered S, what dealer options, alarms?? First off hello, I've been to this site many times over the last year but this is the first post. A couple of days ago I spec'ed a cooper S for January built. I've waited a while here in the San Fran Bay Area so I'm very happy to finally get this process going. The questions are with regaurds to what you purchased from your dealer: What items in adition did you buy at the dealer for your cooper S? Clear coats, 3m clear gaurds(Invisishield etc..), no rust proofing so don't worry! What alarms have people been buying or recommending?? Lo-Jack, Stock, window Etching, or anything else? Extending the warrenty? Leather protectant, interior protection etc.... Thanks All, I look forward to finally motoring!! ![]() |

Offline | This reply is from Europe so I may not have the same choices. I would get all the options on the MINI you could afford. Based on my year in 'frisco that may not be much. If you are getting an S you should have the sport pkg for sure. The HK upgrade is nice too. As for dealer installed options they are more expensive but you keep your warrantee. I got the front driving lights, roof graphic, white tail lights, and JCW kit. By the way how much above MSRP are you paying in the bay area? Just curious. Now this is fun: |

Offline | Nothing over MSRP I've been waiting for a eight months but I needed to sell a car and didn't have the funds anyway. The wait was good only from that aspect as I had more time to research exactly what I wanted. The only bad thing now is this possiable 04 facelift everybody is talking about. Oh well I guess I can't keep waiting forever. East Bay Mini is really the only bay area dealer not charging over MSRP but it has the wait. I'm happy non the less ![]() |

Offline | Forget the extended warranty. The only alarm is the MINI alarm - about $500 installed. If you are a bit handy, you can buy the alarm kit and instal it yourself. You'll save about $150. |

Offline | I have an extended warranty ... glad I do with the unknowns of how will a MINI hold up after the rather short warranty they offer ... whether its worth it or not is dependant on how much your dealer wants to charge for it ... mine was in the neighborhood of $1,200 and takes me to 7 years 100,000 miles |
