United-States 2004 Price Increase

I recently heard that the 2004 S would increase by a minimum of $400.00 starting 01/01/04. Has anyone else heard this?

I heard it was more like $450 ... and people who have them on order already will be hit with the increase.

Yes $450 increase ,no increase in add ons as yet . Both my son and I have made a deposit for our MCS`s to go into production in June 04 and Lauderdale Mini Fl. have told us they will honor the msrp price of when we gave them the deposit ,which was back in August of this year .We could not wish for better than that .

I was wondering when someone was going to post about the price increase.

You might want to get that in writing from your dealer cabmeister. I was told by my dealer (Mini of Peabody) that even if I order in December for March Delivery, I was still going to have to pay the extra $450. No problem though, $450 isn't that much, and as far as car price increases go, it is very small.

Actually when the word got around that the increase was going to go into affect a couple of months ago now I think ,I contacted my MA and she said first off that I would have to pay the increase . To make sure , she passed me over to the manager and she , right off the bat said that they would honor our agrement on the 2 MCS`s . If you look at it we did make a contract before any notification of any increase was ever mentioned . I don`t believe after having delt with Lauderdale Mini over a period of months now (like bugging the hell outa them for repeated test drives to keep sanity ) we have anything to worry about . Its wierd they ALL are not as the normal car sales people ,they are just more like people .
Infact a great pleasure buying cars this way with them . Chuffed to bits this end .

I know when I bought my MINI at the cusp of the 02/03 MY changeover my 'contract' always said MSRP at time of delivery ... so I knew and had no objections to paying the price increase when I ended up with an 03 not an 02 MINI

When my paperwork was done, it had the increase already in the price on the car before options. The MA and the Manager explained what this was. I have no problem with the increase, and it wouldn't of stopped the sale either way.

I was luckly that I could get on the Jan Allocation, and yes I agree it is like talking to a friendly person when you deal with many of the MA's out there.

For me when I placed my deposit in July it was not know whether I'd end up with an 02 or 03 and at the time 03 details were nil so it was specifically worded in such a way to be clear to me and fair to them.

I appreciate all of the feedback. I'm here in Southern Arizona and have been told from the only Mini dealer in Arizona (Phoenix) that it will be 7 to 8 months before I can get an MCS. So I just ordered my car through Louisiana and was told that even though the price was set on current MSRP, that the sticker on the car will show an increase but that Mini wiil kick back a voucher in the amount of $400.00. Even though I have to sell my current toy( 02 Dodge Dakota R/T 5.9 360) after driving the MCS, I will have no problems saying goodbye to my truck.

Cool and with the money you save on gas, you can put in performace parts.

With that said, don't forget to check out the regional forums. Good sources of information for your area and about Mini Events.

Again welcome and good luck.

Just an FYI: There's a news article on the price increase (its under news) but here's the link: http://www.mini2.com/news/news196.html

Magic 8-ball was correct. All be in awe of Magic 8 ball.

Thanks for the welcome. They told me that the expected due date would be 6-8 weeks so I am looking forward to picking up my DS/W Sport package, Cold Weather package, OBC, 3 spoke multifunction, rain sensing wipers w/ autodim mirror, HK, and lapis blue leather. As I am a newbie, I am not sure how to get to the Regional post you talked about, could you tell me where to look? Thanks 1NotEnough!
