Black Cooper It's Arrived2

Well after five months of waiting I picked up my shiny new 'S' yesterday.

What can I say about this fantastic car that has not already been said countless times on this site. The difference between the MINI and my Beetle 1.8T is amazing and to be honest I don't feel that I have lost that much interior space. It is so nice to drive a car (well the 60 miles that I managed this weekend) that you can turn as to be honest the Beetle was a bit of a barge..

So in keeping with tradition.....

04 Build MCS
Black2 solid exterior
White Roof
Chill Pack
White S spokes
Lapis blue interior
Chromeline Exterior
MSFW
Heated Washer Jets/Mirrors
Visibility Pack
Rubber floor mats
Huge grin from owner while driving....

Congrats! And, thanks for posting that you had a Beetle 1.8T, because when I was in my "research" phase, I had narrowed it down to the Beetle and the MINI. After test driving the MINI, I knew that I didn't even need to LOOK at the Beetle! Once again, I can see that I am making the absolute best choice! I'm not ordering mine until August (waiting impatiently for the '05), so I have to live vicariously through all the rest of you guys!

Black Cooper

Glad to be of Service....

I foolishly bought the 1.8T Beetle on a whim after I sold my original 2.0L Beetel that arrived as one of the first batch of RHD cars in the UK (had it on order for a year) and traded for a Bora (Jetta). The 2.0L car was fantastic in that I had no problems with it, build quality was good, dealer was good etc.

When I traded for the 1.8T I felt cheated as it was a nightmare and spent more time at the dealer than with me in the early days. Back then I had looked at the MCS and dismissed it as I felt that the Beelte was such a good car (well the first one was). The build quality was really bad with many bits being replaced by the dealer and when I was told that they couldn't fix a steering fault (loud scream when parking) until it got worse and totally failed - this was the last straw. Also I had hoped to 'chip' the Beetle to get more power but to be honest they wallow so much (unlike the Golf/Bora) I wouldn't want to go fast in one anyway. The turning circle is a joke in that I couldn't even park it in a small carpark where I work when it was busy....

You have made the right choice, I will NEVER own another Beetle again unless one of my two sons wants one when they drive (one is 12, the other is 4) - by then all the things that are wrong with them will not matter )

Very happy with the MCS though as it is good fun to drive even with the run-in not allowing me to go over 4500rpm...
