ARGH! I miss summer!

I wanna get out of these winter shoes, and put back on my high performace tires! I am also sick of not being able to wash my car...

What's RDR?
I've been to splash in Kisco countless times, but this car seems to pick up dirt like no other...

Well at least the supercharger is happy with all that cold air being fed into it.

Australia

The forecast top here today (in Canberra) is 38 degrees C (100.4 degrees F) and I for one I'm looking forward to cooler weather so I can turn the frigging aircon off. I hate it how it saps so much power and makes the car such a bugger to drive in stop go traffic.

It's so dry here (the end of the worst drought in 100 years) that you have to use a bucket to wash cars (no hoses allowed) so my MCS is not getting washed either. Not much of Australia gets snow in winter so we don't end up with filthy looking cars like you guys or for that matter having to put on winter tyres.

A happy medium would be autumn or spring when it is warm enough to have the windows down but cool enough not to have the aircon on.

Oh, I've been through some of that "only wash with a bucket" bullplop. I actually am not looking foward to the summer for the reason you mentioned (A/C). I change my subject: I can't wait for spring!!

I think somebody has done a comparison that shows that you actually use more water using a bucket than a hose

We have a saying in New Mexico that says, "Febrero loco, y marzo poco loco" February weather is crazy, and March is a little crazy. It means that you get teased by the weather being 50 degrees one days and 20 the next. Problem with trying to wash your car is that the water freezes before you can wipe it off the car, so you end up with icy patches here and there. I'm so ready for spring. No central heating in the house. Just a wood stove.

Wow - I thought mine looked bad! Don't you just love the way the rear of the car attracts every speck of dirt within a three mile radius!
I just placed an order today for the Zaino polish kit. I can sit around & dream of nice warm days when i can use it.
Think spring!

winter yuckiness

Hey Subiklim, did you get your winter tires at the dealership, a store, the net? We're here in Pennsylvania, and really shouldn't be running on the summer tires right now, but we don't want to go to the dealership for them.

if you are gettin winters, then i suggest going to the dealer getting the steel rims only if you are going for steel rims... (i went for aftermarket ones and had rubbing issues)

otherwise, unless you really want to see that mini logo everywhere on your car go for aftermarket rims and tires.. most rims should fit 15s

I went to the dealership, and of course was overcharged. I was desperate though, snow was coming, and if I wanted steelies I would have to wait two weeks. If there is no snow in your forecast I would say order from tirerack.

What about driving in snow?

What my car looks like now:

What it looked like last summer:

I have just ordered a MCS electric blue with lapis blue leather and white top , also Package #1,2 and 3. So, I have two questions. First, what do I need for winter and how does the car drive in snow , as I am a skier. Secondly, should I purchase the radio upgrade and the tire warranty?

I would appreciate your reaction. Also, did I miss a mjor feature other than the navigation package?

Best regards,

AR Polis

The winter tires really helped, not sure about the tire warranty, it wasn't offered to me. I assume you are talking about the HK upgrade.... it's one of the upgrades I wish I had gotten. Ask your dealership if you can listen to both radio systems and compare.

By the way, great choice in color! I was looking at the same when I bought my MCS.

Going from driving with the SP9000s in the winter to the Dunlop wintersport is like day and night. Although what I did notice is that the winter set dramaticly lowered the car, so in deep snow I stuck with my Audi A4 quattro .

Major options..... not sure, NAV is great, but I mostly got it because I didn't want the speedo in the middle.
