Offline | Electric Blue Does anyone else agree that the electric blue show in the cooper s brochure looks hardly anywhere as nice as it appears in the magazines (Autocar test) and internet pics on this forum. When I first saw the electric blue in the brochure my instincts were to definatley go with dark silver but after seeing these sexy pics it's gotta be the blue. The white roof and wheels really make it stand out. DS/Black Cooper S, Chilli pack, Full leather, Climate DSC, Clear lights and 212 ponies Hartge kit. |

| Trained Monkey | It's a very nice colour indeed, especially on a grey day when it really stands out. The colour reproduction in general in MINI literature seems poor to me, take their yellow for example, that's not right either. There aint no party like my nana's tea party |

Offline | I haven't seen the electric blue in person, but from photos i've seen i think it is beautiful, though i'm leaning towards indi blue...but from the MINIUSA website - i think the color looks like crap. Looks to smuffish to me on their website. Cheers |

Offline | Another factor might be colour reproduction by the magazines. I agree the electric blue looks much better in the darker shade appearing in the magazines. But I also remember magazine photos of minis in yellow which were much stronger/darker than the real thing. |

| Bad Dog, Moderator | Color reproduction in brochures/websites I have yet to see a color that does not look great on the car in person. The colors in the brochure are just enough off the true color as to not give an accurate representation of what the car really looks like. In my case Yellow was an absolute "NO" before I saw it in person. It is now my choice, with a black roof and sunroof. If Red were not going to be so common I would probably go with that. Bottom line: If possible see as many colors in the flesh as you can before deciding, I'm glad I did. Chili Red / Black Roof Cooper "S", delivered Aug 5, 2002. | heterochromic & loving it | Seeing the color in person really is key. I was wavering a bit on my choice of Indi Blue, but seeing it in person yesterday confirmed my choice. Deep and gorgeous. Liquid Yellow looked nice, but it was a bit too pale for me in person, I was hoping for a louder, more obnoxious yellow. Something to get a real bumblebee look with the black roof and bonnet stripes (it certainly didn't look as yellow as it does in the "buzzing bees" entry page of MINIUSA.com IMHO). I've seen some great pics of Electric Blue, but in person I actually found it a bit bland (shock! horror! blasphemy!). Maybe that's because someone in my neighborhood has a 10 year old Chevy Lumina in almost exactly the same color, so I've been "de-sensitized". Didn't have any British Racing Green, which was my other "on the fence, want to see it in person" color. Oh well... -Ricardo |

Offline | I agree with the other posts. The colors at MINIUSA are almost useless as they don't look anything like the real thing. The only area with a reasonable color reproduction is the 360 viewer. the colors here are pretty good. Its just a shame that you can't pick a color and see it in the veiwer. MINIUSA should add a color choice option to the 360 viewer, or add a complete set of pictures of the cars in all the different colors to the gallery section IMHO. The colors in the brochure are slightly better but don't really match the colors on the car. They are an ink copy of a paint sample. It is like making a xerox copy of a photograph, with a non photo quality copier. You will get a sense of the color but not a true example. Just my 2 cents. 94SwiftGT |

Offline | Judging from the photographs I've seen Electric Blue alone is enough reason to think about getting the S over the Cooper. I have seen Indie Blue w/white roof in person (so to speak) and it looks fantastic. |
