Offline | I stumbled into a pre-spec Dark Silver S with Sport and Prem. packages. I have been given a real live stock number on the car, and I was told it was built and ready to come over on the boat, in three weeks from Saturday, 3/23. That would put delivery around a conservative Mid-April. He was quite empatic that the car exists, and because I was willing to take a pre-spec, I would get mine early. He also stated that other dealers haven't spun up yet in our area (Hartford, CT) and they are currently getting more than their allocation of Pre-specs. So, I have a Sales order for a specific car, with a stock number and everything. Anyone have any faith or corroborating stories, so I can actually sleep at night? ![]() -Davydo '02 CooperS DS, Sport, etc. '55 Beck 550 spyder (1300lbs 2.6L Porsche TIV 180hp almost done building) |

Offline | That is confirmed here as well - since on 55 dealers are up, there is allocation for the 20 un-built dealers that need to be split up. I am hearing as of yesterday that the list is moving quite well and as I am #150 on the list, I may expect to see mine sooner than expected. So sounds right to me...better take that dark silver before I do! ![]() RSpeed Mini * Mini Performance and Accessories from around the world * http://www.rspeed.net Last edited by Der Blue Potato : Mar 28th, 2002 at 10:03 AM. |

Offline | Thanks Thanks for the confirmation... Where did you take this picture? Do you see me with the "Hamburgler" mask on, climbing into the car in this picture? ![]() -Davydo '02 CooperS DS, Sport, etc. '55 Beck 550 spyder (1300lbs 2.6L Porsche TIV 180hp almost done building) |

Offline | It won't register ![]() Odd... my stock number must not be a production number... it's TD123456, where the 123456 is a disguised number... Offline | RightO BruceK. I got my production number on Tuesday and it is indeed 7 digits - all numeric. I'm about 35 on the list and I have an expected build date of 5/10. To be honest, I was pretty shocked to get a call so early. Thank goodness for a few lazy dealerships! Of course, I feel for those who will be delayed. Offline | 35 on the list - what abotu #150!?!? So if I am #150 on the list for an S - when do you think I will see mine? To be honest, my dealership is cooking with getting cars in - they said they are way ahead of schedule due to these allocations. Here is another picture of the same car shot at Global in Atlanta (these have a 10% mark-up) - note: this is not me in the car or standing near it I have always been sold on the Dark Silver - but I have been torn between that and Jet Black. DAMN! WHY WON'T THEY RELEASE A RED INTERIOR!?!? ![]() RSpeed Mini * Mini Performance and Accessories from around the world * http://www.rspeed.net |

Offline | Well, my call to the dealer netted the real production number, and yes, my car is built, and awaiting the big boat! The dealer estimates it will be #1 or #2 of their Cooper S's. What a lucky person I think I am! What a great site. Mini is doing this very very well. Someone has obviously studied human nature very well, and built in every possible tether to my impetuous side. I can’t move from my desk, for fear that I’ll miss my MINI going on its boat ride. Or worse yet, I need to plan my next month around its arrival. They made this like waiting for a child! -Davydo '02 CooperS DS, Sport, etc. '55 Beck 550 spyder (1300lbs 2.6L Porsche TIV 180hp almost done building) |

Offline | I have also been given a production # but my due date (gawd, I sound pregnant!) is week 3 in May. I need to check with MINIUSA and start tracking. I have also "accepted" DK Silver/White roof. My first choice was Yellow with all 3 packages. I was told that production delays pushed back the heated windshield and other components thru Sept. I can live without that package and, as MINI is pushing the exclusive colors first, oh well! Dark Silver it is!! I still figure we will be rare enough for quite a while that I will not see my car on every corner.
