Exclamation Close call today!

Today I was entering the highway with my MCS and on the long turn that gives access to it, I lifted the throttle a little bit to slide the tail, just a little bit.

Trouble is, there must have been some oil or gas on the road because the back starts sliding away really fast! Quick opposite lock, kept my nerves and foot off the brakes and on the throttle but this time it didn't look good. I had to take my foot off the gas pedal, dab the brakes a bit and it regain composure, snapped the other way around, me frantically turning the wheel again, just felt the ABS for a fraction (here, technology saved me), and I REALLY got close to the Armco, before it regained composure again.

I know I had some input on preventing the accident, but I also had a little bit of luck which makes me uncomfortable. Ain't gonna repeat that again for sure. I wasn't going fast but had I hit it would be enough to bend some metal!

Now, I had Traction control on (I don't have DSC on my MCS) which I usually turn off. In my opinion, traction control is awful, instead of letting the wheels slip a bit it justs goes on/off. In the middle of all this it's difficult to say but maybe when the car started sliding and you need to modulate the gas pedal traction control just cuts it abruptly and it upset the car...

Anyway, I’m sure MCS great chassis saved me (and some ABS), have to be careful with damp oily and narrow roads, and my worn out rear tires have to be changed. Learned my lesson!

Yikes. Sounds like a frighteningly close call. I'm lucky to have a quick, one-mile commute to the train station, where I board and go 30 miles into DC. Can't imagine taking either of our MCSs in Metro traffic daily.
