just got an insurance quote for a cooper s

just got an insurance quote for a cooper s. it is $84 a month. i live in cleveland, OH. and i am a 28 year old male with two tickets on my record. another $50 every six months gets me a 100,000 mile 7 year extended bumper to bumper warrenty. pretty damn good. that is with geico insurance.

In OZ, the best I could get was through GIO.

21 yo male. 40% No claim.

$1914 a year.

If anything happens to it in the first 2 years (i.e. write-off - GOD forbid!) they replace the car with a new one to exactly the same spec.

Geez, $84 a month! That's so cheap. I had a minor (bumper only) accident 5 yrs ago and insurance on any new car is around $200. I think the insurance on my current car ('93 Accord LX) is $85.

I too am financing through BMW. 8.95% with no contribution (i.e all value of car), or 7.95% with 20% towards the car.

Holy crap. That's some crazy financing rates! Why did you guys go w/ BMW and get such a high rate? Why not go w/ CapitalOne or other lenders?

BMW actually had the best in OZ.

Well, equal anyway to other lenders.

my credit is horrible. BMW is the only company that would finance me. and that horrible interest rate is with 50% down on the car in cash.

I pick up my MCS "red" May 1. I got 3.25% and my insurance is $63.33 per month $760.00 per year full coverage. Sold my Porsche Carrera Cab just to drive this little booger... As of May 1 let the games begin!

3.25%!!

Much stronger economy? I guess. 8 is like the lowest we see in OZ unless you have a house mortgage to add your car to. Even then, mortgages are like 5% methinks

my friend is getting a used Jeep Grand Cherokee (eek!) from an Acrua dealer (trading in his lease) they offered him 6.9% a friend told him to just go in and say that the got 5.9% from a outside bank. The guy said he would check, five minutes later he's like "we can do 5.9%"
funny I thought, just a tip for you all, only takes a few seconds to ask.

Here's a question: Does it cost less (in the US, for instance), to insure a car that is bought and paid for versus one that is financed? I think my annual car insurance is less than US$700 (including my MCS), but I'm not living in the city proper, either.

all I know is that you will probably have to upgrade the insurance to cover everything like a leased vehicle. right now I have the bare minimum on my car, just enough to keep it on the road. Although I do have glass coverage as I have had 4 windsheilds in my last 2 cars.... doh!
