Recirculating Air + high MPH = High Freq. Noise

I have a March '04 build MCS. At high MPH (over 80) with both the auto air and air recirculating on, there is a high frequency/pitch noise coming from under toggle switches. When I turn off the recirculating, the noise stops. Could this be the fan motor? Anyone else heard this?

I have this too. The air from the outside is getting passed the seals around your air vents. This causes a high pitched sound. You can just open the vent instead of recirculationg and it will go away.

Do you mean the dash vents? The noise is not coming from them, it coming from under the dash. Hard to tell exactly but certainly not the dash vents.

Does the noise stop when you turn off the A/C Compressor? I was told that the compressor could be at fault.

I'm not sure. If I slow down under 80 MPH or turn off the recirculating, the noise stops. I'm assuming that with the air off, it would stop as well. Normal a/c is fine. It's just the high speeds with the recirc.
