I picked up my Mini Cooper S a few weeks ago and I've just got a few queries that I thought that some of you out there might be able to help with;

1. Is your power steering quite noisy?
2. On the chilli pack on the Cooper S on the 52 include the on board computer as mind does not seem to have that?

Any help would be much appreciated!!

Welcome to Mini2.com

I have a 52 plate MCS and yes the power steering is quite noisy but as I understand it, the power steering is noisy on the entire Mini range.

As for the on-board computer question, sorry - I can't help you on that as my car has Sat Nav which includes the OBC

I've also got a 52 MCS & no it doesn't come with the OBC

As for the power steering , every MINI i've drove sounds the same

the steering is quite noisy because the power steering runs off an electric motor, rather than belt driven off the engine, so the noise is generally heard at low speed when engine noise is lower and the electric motor is working its hardest at slow speeds.

As for the OBC, it became standard to the Chilli Pack in September 2003 or therabouts as I ordered it as an extra on my Cooper a year ago, but by the time I got the car it was included in Chilli pack and I got my £100 back, only money I've ever got out a mini dealer!

Thanks Welcome to Mini2.com I have a 52 plate MCS and yes the power steering is quite noisy but as I understand it, the power steering is noisy on the entire Mini range.
