United-Kingdom Can't wait for my MCS!!

Hi guys

Have just discovered this web-site today and it's fantastic - I've spent all afternoon reading the forum!!

The downside is that I want my MCS even more now - and it's notgoing to be delivered until Jan 05

I've gone for DS/B with the silver Union Jack on - I saw one at my local dealer in Canterbury and although I didn't think much of it at first it really grew on me.

Found it really hard to stop myself picking options - I went waaaaay over budget with Chili, full leather, chrono pack etc, etc but I thought blow it - it's my dream car so I'll make the most of it!!

I'm pleased to see so many people who clearly love their MCS's - I know most press is very good but I always prefers an owners opinion to journalist's.

The one thing the press seem to complain about is hard ride on the 17" wheels - but my last car ('92 MX5) was a real boneshaker so the MCS seemed fine on my test drive.

Anyway only 100 odd days to go...........

Before you know it, you'll be having Mini adventures!
You're right to go to town with the spec, why not? You know once you got it you would be saying, "I wish I got the ...."
Keep crossing off those days on the calendar!
I'm sure its too late for you now, but when I went looking for my MCS in June, I was quoted Dec 04 and Jan 05, but I phoned about 15 dealers until I found 1 who could get me a car for Sep 04. It pays to shop around!

It'll be there before you know it

I waited about 120 days. All forgotten the minute you drive off the lot

Thanks guys

I didn't think of checking around other dealers - I just went to my local dealer assuming they'd all be the same delivery times, but I suppose each dealer gets its specified allocation.

One good thing about the wait is I get to save up a bit to pay for all the extra spec. To try and help I sold my MX5 in July (didn't think January was the time to sell it!) for a decent price and went to the car auctions. The plan was to get a decent reliable car that I could either:

A) Sell privately for a nice profit
B) Trade in for the MCS without losing anything (I would have lost loads on the MX5)

As a result I'm now driving around in an '02 Honda Civic automatic which although it's a decent car build wise and comfort wise (top spec with leather, electric everything etc.) is driving me mad as it's sooooo slow and I miss changing gear properly!

I did get it for a decent price though (£7400 including auction fees) so I've decided to try and sell it next month and hopefully make about a grand, then go up the auction again to repeat the process!

So if anyone is looking for a nice reliable fuddy-duddy mobile to back up their let me know...
