Well what a cluster ****.

Ordered pre-spec 4 from my dealer as he told me he had 5 prespecs coming, one of each. Phones me today to tell me they only got allocated 3 of them

Pre Spec 4 was not one they got. They got 2 silvers and 1 electric blue.
All dealerships got their allocation on the 15/16th.

Has anyone else been done over ?.

Seems like no one should of been promised a prespec untill yesterday. Mini UK are blaming my dealer for the mess.

I had a call from my dealer at lunchtime. I am going to see him in the morning. I hope he has not got bad news!

Exactly the same thing happened to me. I put my name down for pre-spec 4 also, but got a phone call last week saying that they only got allocated two pre-specced cars, one in Silver and one in EB.

Instead, I was given an earlier build slot. I had originally ordered a specced car, but because I was given a delivery date of August, I decided to get a pre-specced car. It has now been brought forward to July and if I am lucky I may even get it by the end of June.

I'm really confused. When I was offered a pre-spec, I was given the production number and ultimately the vin number. I have a contract that shows what I am getting.
How come these dealers don't know what they are getting--they should have production numbers and been following the progress.

Well guess what. My dealer got three pre specs and guess which one he did not get....yes pre spec number 4. Guess which on I was due to get!
Still, as ever Wollaston have been brilliant, and offered me the choice of the other two, the lower spec electric blue and the pure silver, or a customer spec june build for July delivery.
In the end I elected to go for the customer spec and have gone for:
Dark silver, white roof and mirrors, chili pack, auto aircon, full leather in lapis blue / black panther, DSC, heated seats, multifunction steering wheel, cd radio boost, cd changer prep, heated mirrors and jets and of course TLC.
All being well it will be a week 26 build!!

So I will have to wait a little longer but I will have some extra toys to play with!!!

Sounds like you have a great dealer, but I'd sure hate to be the customer who specced out your new car. Wonder what will happen to him?

My DS S was supposed to be made during the week of 5/3; it was pushed back to 5/10 for no apparent reason (xenons/sport package??); and was shipped out on 5/16 to Port Hueneme. ETA is 6/11. My dealer assures me that it will come with the sport package and xenons and the owners lounge still lists the sport package as a factory ordered option.

Liquid Yellow Cooper CVT -w- white roof & mirrors and sport package, leatherette, xenons and 16" 5-Star alloys (in our hot little hands) + one new replaced windshield that BMW/MINI refuses to cover under the warranty; and,

Dark Silver Cooper S -w- white roof & mirrors, premium & sport packages and lapis blue/leather due in mid June ... it looks like we got lucky!

Apparently he does not seem to be interested anymore?!?!Luckily for me. The bonus is it is still spec changeable and have managed to get what I want.

As of last night Friday 5/17 my S (5/9 build) is still status 192 at port with ship assigned. It will be a NJ drop and final to Keeler Motors, Latham NY . Looks like they released the CA cars first for their longer trip.

Anybody have an estimate of ship time form Southhampton-NJ?

Just watching the snow fall here in Upstate NY today (freaky May snowstorm) and patiently waiting for my S.

If you look at the shipping web-site and go under schedules, you can see when the ships are leaving from Southampton to the closest port to you. The ships leaving to California left weekly.

Paul, Go to roadfly.org and on on the MINI board there is a great posting (it is recent ... this week) that explains in minute detail how to track the shipment of your car (assuming that it is on a Wallenius & Wilhelmsen vessel). It makes the wait a bit more exciting.

Awesome info on tracking thank you, good news I found my S , it left today from Southhampton on the Jingu Maru, bad news it does hit NYC port until the 5/28. No Memorial Weekend rallying.

Just got a Maisto 1:24 Grey/ White Roof Mini Cooper model it will have to do in the meantime.

But hope springs eternal and June should be some fun month!!

Paul, Do you remember what I mentioned to you several weeks ago ... You will be driving your S before I ever even see mine! (The hardest part will be trying to keep it under 95 mph./4,500 revs during the break-in period ... and we all know that YOU WILL CHEAT!)

They just updated the Owners Lounge today with an En Route status for my cooper s. Of course I knew this over the weekend with your excellent shipping tracking info.
Just heard from another Keeler Motors, identical DK Silver White roof, Premium, Sport, Lapis Blue Leather S owner who has his Mini on the same ship.

We are planning a road rally on pick up day, we have a great winding road along the Mohawk River right next to the Keeler dealership which will be perfect to break the new babies in. Hope our local law enforcement will be taking their donut break at the same time.
