Have a Cooper S coming next month with 17 inch rims and run flats. Living in snow country, I was planning on 16 inch winter rims, traditional snow tires and a traditional spare. I hear that the battery on the S takes up the spare tire space. So, are there any run flat snow tires??????

I'm doing the same, except with 15" wheels.There are hardly any 16" snow tires (if any) available in a 185 width which is the better size on the MINI (IMHO).
As far as I know there are no runflat snow tires out yet...
so I will need a spare and/or a emergency kit of some kind.

I've ordered a Cooper S with 17" wheels too. And, I'd like to run 16" snows during the winter. Is there room to store a fifth wheel (spare snow tire)above the battery?

I don't know either,I'll fold the seat down if necessary or maybe get some Slime or run tubes.

My dealer has assured me that MINI will have steel and alloy rim packages with winter tires available before winter. My best-sourced info tells me that it will be the MINI MS system - a can of goo and a compressor, with 15" non-runflat tires.
