Aside from DSC (for safety) & clear lights (...vanity ) no other extras

Not a big enough fan of interior lights, cruise con, climate con, sat nav, CD stackers, leather/heated seats, xenon lights, etc. etc. to pay the extra $$$. Depreciation on these extras is always shockingly bad, too - Only worth the $$$ if you really want them for yourself

Cooper S, Jet Black w/ white roof, silver 16" X-Lite wheels, DSC, MFSW, dark tinted windows

...It's here & I love it!

Just a panoramic roof.

The only thing I opted for on my Cooper S was the panoramic roof. No DSC. (I kind of wish I ordered DSC, but at the time I ordered the car, I didn't think I'd be able to afford the extra $$$). It's too late now, as my car should be in my driveway next week.

*sigh* All these posts about DSC is sure rubbing it in!

I'm glad I'm not the only one without DSC.

Maybe I should start a support group for Mini owners coping with the absence of DSC.

Me - "Hello. My name is Paul and I have no DSC."

Group - "Hi Paul!"

Enjoying every second of my S!
(Just wish the fuel economy would hurry up and improve..)

Fret not about DSC

SomeBlondeGuy,

Do not worry about not getting the DSC. Why would you want absolute computer control of a Cooper S? For the standard Cooper it might be realistic, but traction control is enough to get you out of snow and mud, and front wheel drive is enough to keep you out of the ditch. Other than that, it's all driver, and that is true motoring.

Thanks

I feel a little better.

I just hope it won't hurt my Mini's resale IF I ever decide to trade it in for a New Mini Convertible 4 or 5 years from now...

Enjoying every second of my S!

lil note on the DSC.

My salesman turned it off on an S test drive. He then revved the engine, popped out the clutch, and proceeded to leave 40 feet of rubber trails behind him.... wheels just spinnin and spinnin.

be careful with all that power

Hi Paul, I have no DSC either.

But rather than making excuses, I rationalize. It's actually a safety feature, not performance. It'll save your ass if you're a little too aggressive or hit an oil slick in a hard turn. Under most circumstances, the car's outstanding handling characteristics and your own driving ability will keep you out of trouble. And at the autocross, you'd switch it off anyhow.

But if I had a teenage son...nah, I probably wouldn't let him drive it.
