MINI Cooper S Experience @ Rockingham

Hi Guys,

I'm getting really excited, I have a MINI Cooper S experience at Rockingham on Saturday... how exciting

Has anyone else been on one of these? What should I be expecting?

Richard.

Did it last year on a dry track ,very good fun, take a camera with you .
Remember that its their car ,their tyres, their petrol, have fun. make the car scream we was getting around 16 MPG
you get a score card to, i got 96% very happy with my score.

Get the photo that you can buy (its around £20)

I've done three trackdays at Rockingham now and thoroughly recommend it! The outfield section with the high 'Nascar-esque' wall is a little scary when you're tipping the car into the flik-flak at 95mph (!) but otherwuse it's a pleasant enough track. The infield is pretty technical; just make sure you brake hard enough for the first left hand bend, but the instructors there are top class and will ensure you'll have a fun and safe time

Enjoy saturday!

You will enjoy this, I was flat out as soon as I left the pit lane!
In my session I was the quickest on the track, so I lapped all the other S's, the Lotus's and the M3's, that made it more exciting for me, obviously the M3's and Lotus's were just out for a Sunday afternoon drive!

The instructor was great, and funnily enough I got the same score as minibee (96%)

And it was free - my company paid

I am having a go in the Lotus soon, so don't wear the track out

Graham

So how was it? I'm thinking of getting this for my wife but not sure which one to go for...ie The normal Cooper S Experience or the Super Cooper S experience - The only difference that I can see is that you get approx 10 minutes more on the track but it costs nearly twice the amount.

Out of the 2 hours that it takes, how long are you on the track for realistically?

Cheers,
Dave

With the normal Cooper S experiance you get 20 minutes driving.

They tell you to change gear at aroung 4500rpm, but if you say "pardon" then by the time he's repeated himself you are up to 6000rpm

Update time!!

Hi Guys,

Apologies for the delay in writing an update on my experience.

All I can say is... WWWWWOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It has to be the best thing I think I've ever done, well worth it. It was actually a lot harder than I thought it would be (never had a proper track day before) and much more fun.

I scored 93%, not bad for a newbie My instructor commented on my lack of self confidence in my abilities but he said I did really well and he was well impressed. I felt like I did badly hence the 'lack of confidence...'.

I recommend this experience to everyone, it really is that good. I will be going back to improve my performance.

Richard.

I've taken my car round Rockingham and it is a great circuit in a Mini although in the wet it's a bit hairy. Also been round in a Caterham Superlight which is awesome. Put the poor old Mini to shame
