Offline | Tiny little 2005 questions I've had my 2005 MCS for a week although I'm driving the 2003 mostly until some insightful person buys it. Here are a couple of questions for y'all: If you are like me and on your second or third MCS, do you find the doors on the 2005 less clunky (there's a precise word for you)? Maybe lighter? What's that electrical motor noise that powers up at start and down at ignition off? Not in my 2003. Does everyone's 2005 exhaust gurgle/ backfire when coasting? Can you reprogram the seat belt dinger thing to stop annoying me for what seems like 20 minutes? I generally wear the belt but, and I know, I know, sometimes do not if I'm just running to the store. Other than that, I like the new gearing, dislike where the clock is, and have to read about the on-board computer visuals as there are so many of them now. Finally, if I turn my steering wheel around, the buttons for my audio would be in the back where I'm used to them, right? uh-oh, the airbag wouldn't work well then, would it?More than a couple of questions but have at 'em Thanks www.minisontop.com Lawdy, Lawdy, the Cross I bear. |

Offline | The door straps, (that prevent the door from opening too far), on the post 03 models are plastic, and much smother in operation. The earlier ones are metal, a bit stiffer and harder to lubricate. In use the door on the newer models feels more free swinging, i.e. less resistance. |

Offline | Thanks, you folks over the pond are great! Please do not misunderstand, I think I like the car BUT I love/loved SCAR-GO, the 2003. From 10/02 until today, my worst problem was a rusted out muffler hanger and uneven wearing tires (not the car's fault, I believe) Lawdy, Lawdy, the Cross I bear. |
