ok i admit it i was wrong

I had a test drive yesterday and felt a little dissapointed, i was expecting more noise and a more urgent pull to it.

Had 2nd drive today

its FANTASTIC!!!

went for a thrash around Southend, lots of country roads and a good stretch of about a quarter of a mile seperated by 2 roundabouts which we blasted up and down several times.

Hearing the car at idle from outside does have a nice tone, and the grill on the back parcel shelf does give a better sound to the interior of the car

it felt bloody quick today, through all the gears, only thing i found lacking was the pull away power in second.

But i love this car

Will now deffo get the DS

Just got to decide on the roof colour

Has anyone got a picture of a DS with the chequered roof??

I was a bit disappointed when I first set off on my test drive, but once I got going, the car came into its element. Its great fun working the gears and the supercharger sounds awesome.

I can’t bloody wait.

Eliseboy, did the vent in the parcel shelf improve the sound inside the car, ie the burble i keep on hearing about.

Eliseboy, every dealer should have on there entrance door a notice saying any questions you have about the MINI one, cooper, cooper S please logg onto MINI2.com as these are the guys that know the ins and outs of every MINI model,"because we are just sales people and want your sale so we can have our commission"

PS,Neo and Minimark are of course excluded from these comments your not like that are you guys.

it was funny because as we finished and pulled up he asked me if i knew anyone else with a Cooper, to which i said one or two, then mentioned MINI2 and he HAD heard of it but admited to having never looked
i told him that there are a few dealers here which seemed to surprise him, think that he thinks we are all trainspotting geeks lol

Why did the stripes look poor on the PS? I'm collecting my Cooper S this Friday and am thinking of having the black bonnet stripes and the chequered roof as well..

My wife told me to shut up at the dealers the other day, 'cos I was embarassing her by pointing out this and that under the bonnet of the S, things that the dealer didn't seem to know about! I'm definietely a MINI geek in her book!

my girlfriend calls me a geek too!!

with regard to the stripes, it just didnt look right, they were 3rd party and didnt fit well for a start, never went right to the edge at either the top or the bottom and it just didnt look as good as in white

My dealer's quite good about it, she knows I am a complete Mini nut.

It's funny when I visit other Mini dealerships though. I play dumb as if I don't know anything about the car. I find it amusing asking technicial questions about the car to see what crap they come out with. Quite sad I know but keeps they happy whilst I get my Mini fix and gives me a laugh at the same time. Some of them just don't have a clue.
