My '04 S has the following options (I bought it used)

Metallic Dark Silver Paintwork
Black Leather Upholstery
Dynamic Stability Control
Multi-function Steering Wheel
Heater Mirrors and Washer Jets
Darkened Glass
First Aid Kit
ISOFIX Child Seat System
Single CD Player
Radio Boost
6 Disc CD Boot Changer
Harmon Kardon Hi-Fi Speaker System
Chili Pack
TLC Servicing Pack

Can anyone tell me if the LSD option will fitted as part of the spec?

I think LSD is part of the Chili pack on 05 Models only

I'm sure the LSD was only fitted to cars built from 1st Jan 2005

i believe you are correct as i have a face lift S and it dont have a lsd because of the build date

Cheers, now I know why it has such wild torque steer and appalling tyre wear issues

Been driving mine an auto-xing for a couple of years now.
I have no idea what you mean by wild torque steer.
There's less in the MINI tha any other FWD car I've ever driven.
And in 3 years of ownership I'd say i have no unusual tire wear issues either.
You may have other issues that need looking into.
