It was unfortunate BMW treated me like trash because I could have done some good to the brand forming a local MINI club... still we have some nice Minis down here in Puebla Mexico and we get together once in a while to talk MINI...

aroused when someone speaks ill of someone/thing and then doesn't explain themselves. Kind of strange. Like they didn't quite get the deal they wanted because they felt they were offering something of great value. An example might be..."hey I can get a club started that would likely boost your sales how about a deal on a new mini"...course it could have just been they tried to overcharge for some service, but since you don't elaborate....

You are right, its quite a long story where BMW Mexico dropped the price of some models with a dollar to peso rate exchange. Which in a sense is ok, today you buy your cereal at $10 bucks and tomorrow its at $4 bucks, well but have eaten your cereal. I got my car on friday where on monday cars were 10% percent less, my loss, just $2400 dollars. But cars are not cereal and instant depreciation was also increased. The worst part is where my dealer played with the numbers on the invoice and made it look like if I got the discount yet charging half of the $2400 to BMW Mexico. When my complaint came up BMW Mexico audited VECSA and charged them a $20,000 fine for fraudulent invoicing. So I drive the most expensive MINI in Mexico and probably the world at just $44000 where I got to put $24000 and VECSA $20000, nice isn't it?. Its a longer and more complicated ordeal than what I have just explained, but bare with me as it would be too long to go on all the details. In the end the part that hurt me the most is that I thought VECSA was a friendly dealer and the manager was my friend, nonetheless they decided to shaft me, one they could have delivered the car on Monday for one, two if I knew of the dicount I would have gone for the S at $3000 discount just like the Blue MCS with the Enkei's. As a matter fact I offered to pay $3400 extra over my car to get an S on Monday, $3k diffrence price and $400 for the trouble and 170kms the car had on that day, they rejected and in very bad manner. I tried to work out something with them but they just shutted me down on everything. On tuesday I picked up my invoice and thats when I catched the deal, they were already rude and I wasn't accepting their invoice, in the end my accountant took the invoice to file it to BMW Mexico.

I wasn't or am not exchanging tis for tat as far as the Club thing, certainly I can't hurt BMW Mexico anymore than what they have done to themselves already, sales and growth are nonexistent for Mexico, 7series sales are very damaged and I belive MINI sales are stagnated, but with such policies and dealers plus the Bangle effect I expected nothing less or should I say more? The Club thing we planned a month before I bought the car and the idea did fly I'll post some pics of events from 2003 but with little to none suppert from official entities well the thing is down the drain although I keep the thing going on. So far I have swayed 3 direct sales from our dealer to dealers that IMO catter to the enthusiast, Bavaria being the 1st and Imagen for the 2nd sale of an MCS, the 3rd was an X5 to Momentum, all in Mexico City. But in the end I believe it would have been great to have had a good relationship with our local dealer or BMW Mexico.

I edited the end, because the Club thing has nothing to do it, I'm pis*** at the treatment given to me by VECSA and BMW Mexico. They discounted the cars unexpectedly in the end of March, no year close out or anything. I asked if MINIs were going to be included in the discount as 3er had already several months with such discount and 5ers had a few weeks. BMW Mexico realized their mistake and shut the offer just a week after they started so just a few customers benefited from this, nonetheless they affected all 2003 owners by extra depreciation, the book takes the lowest price the car sold on that year.
