Car Key Memory

I have just bought my sister a 2004 mini cooper with chilli pack, climate etc. I have a 3 convertible and if you hold down the lock/unlock button it opens/closes the windows. Tried the same with the mini and windows come down by remote but dont go back up. Why is this?

Also, what other usefule features does the key have?

Your sister is one luck person having a 2004 Mini Cooper brought for her, my sister just thinks I'm the local ATM.

You can make the windows go back up by inserting the key into the door and turning it to lock the car. Hold it in the lock position for a few seconds and if the windows are down they'll go back up. As far as I know the key fob never put the windows up, just down.

NewMINIStuff.com do such an interface! As far as i know, it only works in conjunction with the factory fitted alarm but don't take my word for it, contact Mikey and he'll give you advice on this.

Ye thats right it only works with the factorly fitted alarm! you can keep hold of the key for 5 seconds and pop the boot open! no need for this tho as its open all the time unless you have automatic door lock when you set off!

but you wont be opening it when ya moving....
