| MINI2 Newbie | JCW sound kit or aftermarket? JCW sound kit or aftermarket? i have a JCW sound kit on my mini cooper but i dont think it sounds that good. to be fair i am looking for something thats got a good deep note out of it all the time but the JCW kit only sounds good at 4000rpm and after. does any one no what would be the best sound kit to put on my cooper to get a really good deep note out of it? i was looking at a laser center exit "laser" exhaust as i am trying to make my cooper into a "S" replica. Does anyone no if the laser exhausts sound good and what would be the best induction kit to put on it aswell? Thanks |

Offline | a proper janspeed manifold wilkl see you better than anything else as the stand one is that bad as the jcw zorst is good its just let down by the stand manifld and and the jcw air filter inst that good imo esp next to my pipercross induction kit Thinking MINI's Powered by DDM/M7 |

Offline | the enclosed ones are a lot quiter and offer a bit more perfomace because the cabon fiber sheilds the element for the engine heat altthough even thow my one is open it has an air feed so is far better than stock manily because the element is freer flowing thus allowing a better flow of air into the engine Thinking MINI's Powered by DDM/M7 |

Offline | I have put a piper x viper induction kit on my misses cooper, this is complimented by a full stainless Playmini exhaust system. This combi gives an incredible sound and good performance gains. |

Offline | Enclosed intakes are better for performance than an open one as open ones can suck in warm air from the engine bay...obviously cold air is better for performance. Getting a manifold makes the car alittle more droney and the noise inside the cabin under acceleration louder. If you just want a throaty exterior noise rather than a louder noise inside the cabin too then i'd suggest a Milltek cat back system and leaving the standard mani and cat in place. its cheaper and easier to fit than the manifolds too.
