Offline | Whats your mpg? Hi, just bought my cooper and its average miles per galon is 31.0 im just wondering what everyone elses is as im always finding myself trying to keep revs low so i dont waste fuel lol. Instead of watching my speed im mostly watching what my current mpg is and see it as a challenge to try and get my mpg up on the way home from work. I know this sounds really sad but being only 17 im not exactly full of cash at this time after usin all my savings! |

![]() Custom User Title? | It all depends on where you live and the sort of driving you do. If you do a lot of city driving, then it will be lower than if you do a lot of countryside driving. I tend to get around 33-35 mpg from mine, and I do a lot of city driving. This is running on Shell V-Power too. ![]() |

Offline | If it is the old mini cooper then I am not suprised as my fuel consumption was around that level. In my new r56s it is actally better at more like 34mpg even though it is much more powerful. The old mini engines are pretty poor when it comes to economy |

Offline | Over the 33,000 miles that we had our '04 Cooper, running 15" wheels, it used to average 37.6 mpg. Stop start around town, it would dip to around 33mpg and on a long run it could crack 42mpg. It was run on bog standard 95 octane fuel. Tigger. May '08: Due to certain recent events on this site, I no longer wish to continue posting on Mini2. Such a shame after 4 otherwise very happy years on here If you are a friend, I can always be contacted here! Last edited by Tigger, Eeyore & Roo : Feb 13th, 2007 at 11:56 AM. |

![]() Custom User Title? | It sounds like you have a very heavy right foot. ![]() I'm also running on 15" wheels and I get a similar fuel consumption to this. Different setups will probably cause the fuel economy to vary slightly. Remember this is the MINI Cooper forum. Your MCS figures will be a bit misleading because the fuel economy on the S is much lower than the Cooper anyway, just as the fuel economy on the One is better than the Cooper. ![]() |

Offline | thats a really bad mpg figure, I used to really give my bluefin Mini One some stick and i only got it down to 26.9mpg and thats when changing gear at 6000rpm! But i treat my mini with a bit more respect now and only really go for it occasionally. but i let it rev to 6500rpm so the revs dont fall to low and make the engin bog down! lolWhen i reset my trip computor and drive like a Nun in a diesel corsa for a week i have had my mpg right up to 46.5mpg on tesco 99! ![]() |

![]() Custom User Title? | Kingoli2003, I've just realised you also created this thread. In that thread you say you own a MINI ONE and when supa-dupa-cooper asked if it was a ONE D you replied with "Yes". If you're only getting 31 mpg out of a diesel then that isn't good. ![]() So which is it? A ONE or a Cooper, and if it's a ONE is it a diesel? ![]() ![]() |
