Offline | I bet you could adapt a BRB from a Honda S2k to work as your ignition. It costs about $40 at the Honda dealership. A lot of people with Miatas have replaced their cigarette lighter with this. Got to www.miataforum.com and do a search on "BRB". Ditch |

Offline | I'm curious to how it would work. Does that mean the ignition would not be used. It looks cool though and it would give a sportier look. I wonder if it would affect the warranty? Happy Motoring... |

Offline | This has been the topic of a few threads before. People have gone for two options - the cigarette lighter hole or a button which some people have placed by the mirror joystick. Which ever method you choose, you still hav e to put the keys in a turn them to position two but rather than the turning the key further and letting it drop back to position two when started, you press the button and you're little baby bursts into life. Offline | Nothing new! The very original Mini Cooper had a floor mounted starter button . If I recall correctly it was actually the starter solenoid with a mechanical button on it. One problem that we had was when the exhaust bracket came loose or snapped with engine movement, the exhaust pipe could actually touch the contacts on the starter solenoid and try to engage the starter motor while the engine was running! |
