Offline | I seem to be getting about 41 miles per gallon(uk) during the average week (and tank of fuel!). How's everyone else doing? |

Offline | After straining my brain doing the calculations I think I'm getting 32 mpg to the imperial gallon. That's with a fair mix of city and freeway and the AC running a great deal (high 90s to 100 degrees here the last couple of weeks). |

| MINI2 Master | When I drive reasonably I get 40MPG (imperial gallons) in mixed driving. When I drive in a highly spirited manner I only get 34MPG (imperial gallons again) or so, which is about the pure city mileage they quote which is pretty good considering how I rev when I'm really having fun! Offline | Pretty consistently getting about 24 miles per US gallon. This is calculated by hand, and is largely a suburban commute (mainly freeways, often stop-and-go, usually with the A/C on) 2005 Toyota Prius 2004 Porsche 911 Carrera (996/2) formerly EB/W Mini Cooper S [01 Mar 2002 build date] |

Offline | OK, here you go. 1. Fill your tank till the gun clicks off so that it's topped off. 2. Reset your trip mileage counter. 3. Drive until you need to fill up again. Take it right down to 1/4 or so as you'll get a more accurate calculation the longer you leave it. 4. Fill up again as in 1. 5. Note the number of litres it took to fill up. 6. Divide litres by 4.55 to give you the number of gallons used. 7. Divide the number of miles travelled between fill ups by the number of gallons used. 8. Tell everyone on here your mpg KenL. |

Offline | Turn us all into anoraks ![]() I started monitoring the fuel consumption so that I know how many miles/km I can get out of a tank of petrol. It has been very useful and comforting to know that when the fuel indicator light comes on, I can still go on for another 90 miles before the car comes to a halt ![]() DK ![]() |

Offline | Converting US to Imperial gallons For anyone interested, I just checked a conversion table for converting between U.S. and imperial gallons. If you're in the U.S. and want to post your MPG in imperial gallons, divide your MPG by 0.83267. My last tank got me about 32 MPG in the U.S. After dividing, the result is 38.43 miles per imperial gallon. If you're using imperial gallons and want to convert to U.S. gallons, multiply your MPG by 0.83267. Thus if your MPG is 38.43, you'd be getting 32 MPG in the U.S. Paul |

Offline | Thanks for the conversion. I just figured my average MPG after 6,155 miles and am very pleased (given the other numbers that have been posted.) The average, including break in, is 34.5 MPG US or 41.33 MPIG (Miles per Imperial Gallon) |

Offline | I've been getting around 34 mpg(US). A large portion of my driving is highway that occasionally turns to stop and go. I also live at 6200ft above sea level. Any idea how this effects fuel economy? |
