Offline | MINI cooper security questions Hi all, I have just bought a new Mini Cooper in Hyper Blue with the white bonnet stripes and CHILI pack. I used to have a Mini one which was great but now im older (insurance being cheaper) I have opted to trade mine in and get a cooper. I have a couple of questions about my new purchase which I really should asked when I bought it lol..... a chili pack does not include an alarm as standard does it? If it doesnt, has anyone had any expirence with retrofitting an alarm from a Mini dealer? Is it a good installation, is the alarm good etc, And on the whole, I never had any other security on my mini one other than its immobiliser, can anyone suggest any other good deterents/ robust device to prevent any un wanted mini adventures. Thanks Last edited by Rickg123 : Apr 8th, 2008 at 08:59 PM. |

Offline | A little advice on other deterrents, one of the better ones is a proper fitting "disk-lock" , approx £70 - £80, the major problem with these is they can be quite clumsy to fit and can damage the wheel and AIRBAG especially the 1st Gens with the 2 spoke wheel as the AIRBAG on them is all to easy to dent or scratch, and when something is awkward to use it often stops getting used, if you know what I mean .Here's a post I did for someone else if you haven't already seen it, there's many more like it around the site .(My Post, in a MINI Alarm thread) ![]() ![]() ![]() Destined to live life £5 behind.
