Add more features for my MINI Cooper

Hi All,

I am new here! I bought a 51 Reg MINI Cooper recently. It has no trip computer, no Xenon headlamps. I am wondering if I can add these fancy features on to mine just by, buying a indicator switch, which has the trip computer button, and fit it in and rewired to enable the trip computer; buying a original set of Xenon HID lights to replace the Halegon bulbs?

How hard could these works be? How to rewire the indicator stalk to enable the trip computer? How to fit the HID ignitor into the headlamp compartment? I have read through my Haynes manual but with no idea how to do it.

If anybody knows, please help me out with these questions and you helps are very much appreciated!

Thank you very much!!!

Do bear in mind that, to be road legal, your HID equiped car is going to need headlamp washers and automatic headlighter leveling. This is a huge job and just isn't worth contemplating.

Thx Tigger!!! Nearly buy a set of HID bulbs by not knowing that. I have given up converting my headlamps into HID now.

Ok, how about enable the trip computer? Any idea?

Yes, read through all of them and have some ideas now. Want to go ahead and do it if I could get a indicator switch from ebay.

One question, may Carsoft 6.5 turn the trip computer on after the switch and looms being installed, which means I could diy all the way without going to dealer? Any suggestions?

Cheers!
