Offline | Well it's here at last. Took the afternoon off on Friday there to pick it up. What can I say? The dealer had kindly placed it right at the front of the forecourt and needless to say it looked spectacular! Spec is as follows: Chilli Red, Chilli pack with chrome bits, White roof, mirror caps and wheels - 16" 5-star & runflats, Single CD + Boost, Visibility Pack, heated washer nozzles, Sports Seats with red Kaliedo & half leather trim, Bright silver dash, SS+ suspension, Big Grin for the driver. After a somewhat tepid start, I'm starting to get used to the handling. I'ts very 'chuckable' and even keeping below the recommended rev count for the run in period is more than enough for now .A couple of obsevations though... the gearknob is indeed freezing first thing in the morning meaning I'm less likely to leave my hand resting on it lol! And the white wheels... the lovely white wheels were meant for this car... but they stay white for approximately 5 minutes afer they're cleaned lol! But when they're clean, they make the car look amazing! Now, I'm not overly tall (5'10") but I find when I pull up at the lights I need to peer below the roofline to see things like the filter light.. the green light lol! The seat is set fairly low so I was wondering if anyone else has noticed this? Now I'll prepare a pic for posting then I think another run somewhere ![]() Steve "There are 50 ways to love your lever" Chili Red Cooper with white bits, Chili Pack, SS+, Brilliant Silver/Tartan Red Half Leather, CD+Boost, Visibility Pack, Heated Mirrors/Washers |

| MINI2 Global Moderator | Nice MINI, reminds me of mine ![]() I know what you mean about having to duck down to check the traffic lights, I put that down to the windscreen being quite vertical compared to other cars so the roof is further forward. Enjoy ![]() the MINI has gone... |

Offline | Everything get's dirty quick in a MINI2 , 'If your lucky enough to find rhe right Woman' !!. Seriously though , I can spend two hour's washing mine , nip down to Safeway's for a bottle of cleansing fluid ' Red Wine ', and when i'm back home the Bl##dy car need's washing again . Taking the Wheel's off this weekend to power wash them. I park in the ' Green ' sometimes ' red ' area at Traffic light's and watch the light's through the Sun - Roof . Only Bl##dy way I can see them. Enjoy. LUMSPEED Lumspeed |

Offline | Lol! Thanks for the reply guys... God knows how many times I've skooshed the rear window to see out! lol! But it is particularly grubby out on the roads this weather.. roll on Summer... As for traffic lights, I don't have the luxury of a sunroof (strict budget, see) but I find pulling up about 10 feet short of the line helps, in addition to giving the chap in the adjacent lane at least a chance of getting away first ![]() Oh and I actually 'flashed' another MINI yesterday! Didn't get a response tho from the distinctly cotton-headed driver... ![]() Steve "There are 50 ways to love your lever" Chili Red Cooper with white bits, Chili Pack, SS+, Brilliant Silver/Tartan Red Half Leather, CD+Boost, Visibility Pack, Heated Mirrors/Washers |

| MINI2 Regular | Like the car, almost identical to mine but red! I agree with your trouble seeing traffic lights - I am 6' 4" so it's probably even worse for me! Offline | Congrats on the arrival of your new Cooper! Never used a forum of any kind before (apologies if I'm doing this all wrong) but thought I take the leap as I'm dying to tell someone my Cooper arrives at the end of this month (the wait since ordering in Jan has killed me!). Be prepared everyone, I'm bound to have loads of questions to ask when it finally gets here! ![]() |

Offline | Well thank you. Believe me, it's worth the wait. Day three and I'm still on a voyage of discovery with my Coop which I expect to last for some time... up til now it's been 'budget' cars for me, but since I cleared a couple of long standing debts I could go 'upmarket' - a bigger car perhaps? Nah... Oh and I've gone flash crazy.. at least two this afternoon - no response tho! | MINI2 Senior | Congrats Steevo, I'm sure you are going to have a lot of fun in it. I'm 6"2 and have the seat at its lowest setting. I don't have any probs with traffic lights but then I have my seat reclined a bit. As for chuckability... well the guys on our heartbeat recce will testify to how much you can chuck the cars about. We had a bit of a 'blat' towards the end of the run on some superb empty b roads. Roads were nice and dry and tires were lovely and warm. The cars simply flew round the bends and felt incredibly poised. Huge grins all round when we pulled up. Stop ruddy rainin cos the 2nd Cam needs a thrashin ! |

Offline | Bishopbriggs. But I commute to Renfrew every day so you'll most likely find me stuck in traffic on the M8!
