Offline | I took the plunge! Hi all, this is my first post here, although I have been lurking for a couple months. Very addictive site, makes it hard to get any work done! After some convincing, I finally got my wife to agree to let me get my MINI (those of you who are married probably know what I mean by 'let'). I ordered it on Thursday, 3/13/03, which is a good sign since 13 is both mine and my wife's lucky number. Expected wait is 8 weeks--I was expecting to hear 4 months, so I was happy with this, even though I know it will still seem like forever. My question--I got my production number and joined the owners lounge on the miniusa site, my status is 'On Order', how accurate is the 'Estimated Production Date'? How many of your cars were actually produced on or before this date? How long after production does it take to be scheduled for shipping? Just a little anxious, I guess, LOL. Sorry about the length of this post. Specs: Mini Cooper Chili Red w/white roof & mirrors Chrome bumper inserts Cold weather package (this winter convinced me of that!) Multi-Function Steering wheel Black Kaleido Cloth Sport seats with black door bolsters Silver dash 15" 7-Hole white wheels Manual Transmission White bonnet stripes American Flag roof graphic Driving lamps I look forward to hearing from some of you and becoming a part of this great community! Offline | Hello! Welcome the MINI2. Your best bet with regards the delivery times is to check out what others have said in the delivery... etc. forum. There are more precise ways to track your car than the owners lounge. ![]() There aint no party like my nana's tea party |

Offline | Congrats OBX! What's your specs? I'll keep you posted on my delivery. My car has moved up to 'Scheduled for production', and now has a VIN number. Estimated production date is still 3/28 though. I've been thinking, does anybody think that the soon-starting war with Iraq is going to affect the shipping schedules? That would just be my luck! LOL. Offline | ...Joe Sounds like things are clicking for you man! I still have a "estimated production date" of 4/11 (I wonder if that has something to do with color choice) as you'll see I've picked the rarest of them all. 2003 Mini Cooper Velvet Red w/white Roof and Mirrors 15” Seven Hole Wheels – In White Premium Package Sport Seats Rear Spoiler Kaleido Black Cloth w/ Black Trim Anthracite Interior The war will be over before they build our cars! |

Offline | OBX, you're probably right about the war being over before they build our cars! Velvet red-nice color. I also like the anthracite interior, and I went to the dealer expecting to order it, but I think the silver stood out more, and I kind of liked that. I don't think the difference in production dates has anything to do with the color--from what I understand, dealers order an allotment of cars and get them scheduled, and then once you go in and buy it, the dealer changes one of the cars on order to your specs. So, it probably has to do with when our dealers put in their original order. Flea: MINI Cooper, Chili Red w/white roof |
