Offline | Anyone with Indi Blue with Tartan Red Interior? Hey guys. Pretty much decided on the spec of my Cooper now (due for June 16th), but I'd really like to see a pic of someone's mini with the same combo as mine. Does anyone have the following? Indi Blue White 16" Wheels (cooper) White Roof & mirror caps White bonnet stripes Half and half Tartan Red interior Tinted windows Any pics of the same (or close) would be much appreciated! IMHO, I'm sure the red and blue contrast will look stunning, but I'd really love to see it in a photo. Also, what are your opinions of this combo? Cheers Kaz ![]() |

Offline | I'm sure it's called Tartan red. Anyway, it's the black leather with red cloth seats, and red on the doors and in the rear of the car! Looks good on everything I've seen it on so far, just can't find anyone with it on an Indi Blue car. There must be someone out there with this, or is my mini just gonna be TOTALLY unique? ![]() Cheers Kaz ![]() |

Offline | MiniAlex: How come your dealer put you off it? What did he say? It is a recommended option in the brochure! I just want to be different, and I think (IMHO) that the black looks a bit boring. Cooper i Do: Just had a look in your gallery, stunning car!! I'm really toying with the idea of the 17's at the mo! I like the look of the 16's in white, but when I see the 17's on a blue mini I think it must be worth the extra! Cheers Kaz ![]() |

Offline | No one seems to have this combo! I still think I am going to go for it because it is obviously so rare! ![]() Last call for anyone one with this combo... come on, there must be someone out there? Kaz ![]() |

![]() Hitched to Mrs H | The only problem with the red cloth is that when it gets dirty it really shows. I went for black because I thought the back seats had too much fabric and this would be overwhelming in red! The black looks cool anyway with the half leather. D-lite-full |

Offline | I'd go for both the red interior AND the 17" wheels (in white of course!), I have a black and white Cooper with both these options and I think it's glorious. ![]() I originally ordered mine with the 16" wheels, but after seeing the 17" ones in the flesh I changed my mind. IMHO they look tonnes better. I wanted the red interior from the start - I think it contrasts wonderfully with the black - I can imagine the effect with the blue will be much the same. You know you want to - Just Do It! ![]() ![]() |

Offline | Phil , That is a beautifull car! Any chance of a few more pics of the inside? I really wanna see what the back seats will look like! I think I will go for the tinted windows, just do it darkens all that glorious red in the back seat! ruddockt Black was my VERY close second choice. Did you go for metalic or matt? I was definately going for a black one, until I saw one dirty and realised how bad it will look if you don't clean it twice a week! Do you find the white wheels hard to keep clean? Also, I may be ditching my xenon's and going for the 17's! I do agree, they are much nicer, but I need to find how much the tyres will cost! Do you find that the car isn't as quick as you expected because the 17's are so heavy? Are there any other pro's and/or con's you can think of owning the 17's? I must admit, after seeing the picture of your car, I am now, once again, torn between the black and blue! ![]() |

Offline | I went for the solid black and I love it! ![]() That's a good point. A few weeks ago mine was filthy so I gave it a well deserved wash. I usually try to wash it every week, but the weather we'd had put the mockers on that! One thing though - you realise just how good the black and white does look when it's clean. ![]() For the first week (while the brake pads settled down) the wheels did get fairly mucky, but since then they're not to bad. When I polish the bodywork I also tend to apply a coat of polish to the wheels which helps. ![]() I have both Xenons and the 17" wheels on my MINI, to be honest if I had to choose it would be a difficult decision but I think the wheels would win - I think they look tonnes better than any of the other wheels on offer from MINI. I originally ordered mine with the 16" wheels but I'm soooo glad I got the 17"s instead. As for the price of tyres, I haven't investigated that one. The 17" wheels and the 16" ones that come with the Chilli Pack both have run-flat tyres so I'm guessing that whichever you decide on the tyres won't be all that cheap!! ![]() I can't say I've noticed any lack of performance from having the 17" wheels nor do I get the impression they are particularly heavy. The ride is probably a little harder than it would be with the 16" wheels (and it'll be even harder still if you order Sports Suspension Plus (SS+)). I originally ordered mine like I say with 16" wheels and the SS+. When I changed to the 17" wheels I removed SS+ because I'd read some rports about the ride being over-harsh with 17" wheels and SS+. I've only noticed it when I go over pot-holes (which I tend to do on a frequent basis 'cos the roads up here in Leeds are bloomin' shocking!) ![]() Well that's all down to personal choice..... I prefer the black - but that's only my preference. I'm not going to try to swing you on that one - however if you'd like me to e-mail or post some more pics of my MINI to assist (or perhaps confuse you even more) then I will do. ![]() Black or Blue it's up to you! And that rhymes!! ![]() ![]() |

Offline | ruddockt, Thanks for that reply! You answered a lot of questions I've wanted answers too for ages! The way I look at it, if i get solid black, I save £250, and then I can invest in the Xenon's instead. My dad tried to advise me towards a solid colour because it is much easier to repair scratches or chips! But my dealer reckons that it will help re-sale if I get metalic. I can't see it affecting the re-sale that much, but i guess he knows better than i do! I would appreciate some more pictures! Why don't you stick em in a personal gallery so everyone car marvel at your beautiful car! Please get pics of the red interior because I need to convince my girlfriend that it is a nice combo! Also, I'm off to see the dealer on Saturday, so I'll ask for a written quote for the tyres for both 16's & 17's and I'll let you know! Cheers Kaz ![]() |

Offline | Personally I'd disagree about the metallic paint - I don't think it has much effect on the resale value. On other makes of car perhaps - but not the MINI. Forgive me for being cynical here but I just think your dealer might be trying for an extra few quid (then again he'll get that if you order the black & white with the xenons). ![]() According to my dealer black and white cars are the most desireable from a used perspective ![]() - it's definitely the colours he gets asked about the most but he can't get his hand on any ![]() - whereas silver & black - he's got them coming out of his ears!!I bet if were to look on the MINI Cherished website http://www.minicherished.co.uk/AUC/M...,2485,,00.html and compare the prices of the two colours you wouldn't notice any difference. ![]() I've created a gallery and put some pics on there so you can have a look. If you've got the MINI brochure there's a rather nice picture of the red interior in there. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Offline | Avoiding non-metallic colours used to be something that was quite common in the past (though Rover had a non-metallic dark green which I personally thought was rather nice) but the popularity of non-metallic colours such as Chili Red and Pepper White on the MINI seems to have changed all that! Although metallic paint looks attractive, the nice thing about non-metallics is that the look of the colour tends to stay more consistent with different light levels and it's also easier to touch up scratches as well. |
