Yellow Cooper Where to sell my car?

I have my car in the autotrader, however was wondering if anyone new of anywhere that would give a decent price (near book) on minis? I really don't want to part ex the car as then my hands will be tied on my negotiations for my new motor.

I need to sell my car and the autotrader response has not been great to be honest...and my car is not overpriced by a long chalk...£10,995 for an 02 cooper?

Clues anyone?

Have you put it in the for sale section here?

What about fish4cars.co.uk? There are a few more sites/magazines. Any free car mags in your area?

What's the spec. and mileage?

Is the car yellow by any chance? In a Times guide to buying a 2nd hand MINI it said yellow cars are worth £1000 less than others.

Thanks for the link...interesting reading

and yeah, its yellow/black...10k miles on an 02 plate.

Doesn't have chilli or pepper pack as I thought both were a rip off when buying, so I just bought the bits I wanted, like Leather SW, chrome inserts, CD multi etc.

I have it priced at 10,995 which is below book price for the car....

Perhaps as you say the general public are just too anal to drive anything that isn't a normal bog standard colour?

Interesting though't about Part-Ex.

I Don't agree that your hand's are 'Tied' .

The Mini is still ' Very ' sough't after as a
' Trade in ! ' in all car dealership's . If nothing else ,
When on display it attract's the prospective buyer's eye to the Car lot !.

My COOPER has 7.000 miles on an 02 plate now , and I recentely visited a local renault dealer to test drive the NEW MEGANE .

The dealer offered a straight swap , even though the Meganne I spec'd was about £13.000 + .

I also re-visited my BMW dealer to discuss a MCS purchase and was offered £ 12.500 trade in ( Original purchase price was £ 14.000 which included ' Chili ' and sun roof etc ).

Obviously , the more expensive your intended purchase may be , then the re-sale value of your current car increases.
This has alway's been the case , but the MINI COOPER is currently ' THE CAR ' to have , and you are in a seller's market .

You have not mentioned your reason for selling your COOPER .
But if it is due to a change in car choice , then consider visiting various dealer's .

Selling private may be less hastle ( Sometimes a lot more !! ), but will bring in less Pound's.

PS. Don't buy a MEGANNE , the styling's ' Brill ' , the steering's ' CR*P.
