Offline | Re: Taken the plunge.. Firstly welcome to MINI2 Ray. ![]() When I looked at your post, the first thing I thought was - 'Oh no not another silver & black' ![]() To be honest (and this is only my opinion) there are far too many pure silver & black MINIs on the road, in fact there are too many silver cars in general. Nice a colour though silver is, it's just too common. My local dealer (Lister Park in Bradford) and I noticed the other week the dealer in Huddersfield both have numerous second hand silver & black MINIs for sale. According to my dealer they are the hardest ones to shift because they are so common. I'll get of my soapbox now, and whatever colour you decide on I won't hold it against you (it is personal choice after all). ![]() ![]() Just one thing - if you do decide on the silver & black - remember to wave at other MINI drivers, because that's another gripe of mine - up here in Leeds, drivers of silver & black Coopers seem reluctant to wave at the rest of us. ![]() ![]() |

| MINI2 Regular | Have you thought about Velvet Red and Black. Looks very singular but high class. I have a Cosmos Black Cooper all one colour, I would have had Velvet Red, if it had been available at the time. Your choice though, all the MINIs look good. Black Jack |

| Awwww %%%% it! | Hi Ray and welcome to MINI2 ![]() I was going to suggest the best and classic colour - Chili Red/White but seeing your spec and the sunroof option then you really need a black roof - IMHO the sunroof looks lousy on a white roof. The silver is less common on the Coopers, on the MCS dark silver/black is by far the most popular colour. You'll be going mad waiting for July but it is worth the wait - join us on the 10th August for the Cotswold Run and you can show off your new baby ![]() |

Offline | MMMmmm... Yes, I am seriously considering changing the colour. Definitely keeping a black roof, 'cos of the sunroof. Hadn't thought of Velvet Red. Presumably there is a pic of one in the gallery. BRG is still a possibility. Biggest problem is persuading my good wife, who seems set on silver.....but I am paying for it! |

Offline | Welcome to MINI2 RayC ![]() I live in West London too, albeit far far west London ![]() Silver/Black Coopers are the most common coloured MINIs around here, but it's still a great colour combo none the less ![]() BRG/W is a great colour combo but I wouldn't get a BRG/B, as the BRG is already very dark the black roof would just make it appear even darker ![]() Have you considered the classic combo of Red/W????? Very nice and not common at all in London ![]() As your car's not coming until July you've got months of indecision left about the colour ![]() Don't worry we've all been through the same scenario ![]() MINI, RX8 and MX5 - Done those............. It's now TTime ![]() ![]() Unofficial MINI2.com bean counter |

Offline | Sticking with 16" wheels, assuming they will give a slightly less harsh ride. No visibility pack. Had to draw the line somewhere. Been browsing the galleries. Chilli Red with black roof is tempting. Still think the black roof looks best with a sunroof (at the moment!) ![]() |

Offline | The BRG and Velvet Red are quite dark, though they're not all that common; For a look at Velvet Red with a Black Roof check out this thread: http://www.mini2.com/forum/showthrea...threadid=28477 Here are some pics of a Velvet Red Cooper with a white roof (not very common at all!) - and no it's not mine, these are some pics that were taken by the photographer on the run to Blackpool in November organised by our dealer. ![]() ![]() ![]() As you can see, the Velvet Red can look very dark in some lights, but it does look really nice in bright sunshine. However my wife thinks it looks brown ![]() |

Offline | welcome to the world of mini! and excellent colour choice! I know people say that is the most common colour but it proves that it is the nicest and i really think that the silver and black looks the business. Enjoy owning a mini and by the way the wait is a pain but thats what mini2 is for!! |

Offline | I like silver because it's easy to keep clean: I've only washed it once every month and it's raining bad here all the time and no one ever complains my car being dirty ![]() I like silver for its classic look w/ MINI and it's not as wild as red/yellow which doesn't really fit my character. If you think silver might be too common you could always add bits to make it unique. Tinting windows, sticking a flag (actually I rarely see a silver MINI w/ a flag on top, and now they even have a black and white union flag which I think it looks awesome), adding aerokits, changing wheels are all good things to do to enhance the look of your MINI. Anyway, pick a color which you (or your wife ) REALLY like and go with it. Afterall it's you and your wife who will look at your car most often. Good luck with your color choice ![]() |

Offline | I agree... unless it's a black car. Although the dark contrast of the sunroof on a white top with, for example, a red body looks lousy, I believe it looks fine if the body of the vehicle is a dark shade also. Case in point is Aiden's Cooper, one of the nicest on the site imho. Anyway, you can always throw a chequered decal on the top ![]() |

Offline | I too am having problems choosing my spec' which includes high levels of 'Colour Anxiety'... ...I'm down to a Top 3 which are: 1. BRG /White 2. Chilli Red/White 3. All Solid Black Not sure about bonnet stripes yet but i do like the 'John Cooper' signature logo's for the side panels which i may have to track down... I think when people say there are too many Silver and Blk cars they are probably right - my dealer said 40% of his sales are of that combination... Choose your colour wisely - it will be with for a long time - I like colours with some history or heritage (of sorts) so thats why BRG/W is my top choice...its very personal though... Go with your heart - not your head (or wife!!) lol ![]() " Life is too important to be taken seriously" |

Offline | My baby will be an all black Cooper. I thought about it for ages but in my opinion it will look more classy, especially with lots of chrome bits all over it... If I didn't go for all black, I would probably go for Indi Blue/White roof as every picture I have seen of them looks really good. Again it's all personal. The best thing do do is see all of the colours "in the flesh", that way the choice will be a lot easier. Good Luck Neill |

Offline | Indi blue/White's very nice indeed. If I hadn't got my black/white I wouldn't got the ib/w. If I'd got all black, I would've been forced to get the viper stripes. Think that looks great. |

Offline | I think we can both agree on that front! My car's supposed to be arriving at the dealer today. Hopefully the long long wait is coming to an end. Hopefully. |
