Offline | Ride quality My wife is finding the ride in our standard Mini Cooper CVT a bit too hard. Can it be easily modified for more compliance on bad roads? The dealer says it would need springs and shock absorbers to be completely changed. Also our car has the lurching problem at low speeds that others with CVT have reported. Have asked the dealer to look at software upgrades, after being told initially that driver simply has to adjust to it. |

Offline | What wheels/tyres have you got? The ride would be slightly softer with 15" wheels than on 16 or 17". Some dealers will tell you any old cr*p won't they !!! Red/Black R56 Cooper |

Offline | Ride quality They are just 15in 8-spokes. We specified them so as not to make the ride too bad. Trouble is we have had larger cars recently and got spoilt! The Mini One we tested before buying seemed smoother, but the Cooper was a more tempting package |

Offline | The ONE should have softer suspension but mine still seems very firm compared to most other small cars. You could although not really advisable try dropping the air pressure in your tyres by a couple of psi. Red/Black R56 Cooper |

Offline | I will try lower tyre pressures. Car is usually driver only, and recent hot weather may have increased pressures. I thought the shocks might be adjustable though. |
