I agree with your opinion of the mx-5 - I am wrestling with the thought of having to get rid of mine to make room for the mini. Much as I'm sure I'll love my Cooper when she gets here nothing comes close to a rag top when the sun's out. Who knows maybe I'll have 2 cars.

Have owned Mazda MX 5 - old one with pop up heads, great car, fun to drive.

Fiat Coupe - very quick, nice to drive, bit too heavy in the end.

And am junking my Alfa GTV to get a Mini Cooper - complete change of image, totally different car - Alfa is great, very sexy, few around BUT took one drive in Cooper and it was all over - goodbye coupes hello Mini (at least at the end of March anyway)

Anyone want a Red GTV ? Leather, aircon etc...? Only 28,000 miles?

Mini Cooper, Indi Blue with white roof + bonnet stripes, Chilli, Driving lights, Alarm, Air Con, ASC+T, Heated Mirrors + Jets, Single CD

I was almost at the point of ordering a 2.0 Alfa 147 and I had looked at 2.0 Focus or waiting for the ST170 Focus, (as a company car) then I just saw an article somewhere about the new Cooper and being a mini/MINI fan I booked a test drive on-line at Sytner BMW, and the rest is history - me now being the proud owner of Indie Blue Cooper.
The best car on the road - no question

I hadn't intended on buying another vehicle. I just figured we'd keep our raspberry Pontiac Sunfire SE 3-spd auto until it died.

That's what my family, and my girlfriends' family has done with almost every car we've ever had.

Then, we saw the MINI. We loved it immediately, and thought long and hard about how we could get one. It occured to us that we could sell the Sunfire, and buy a MINI, but that's silly, the Sunfire is fine.

We mentioned it to our parents, and as it turns out, my dad owned a Austen Mini Cooper S, and Her dad owned a Morris Mini Minor. They were more excited than we were.

So we put a (refundable) deposit down on a Cooper S sight unseen. We've gone to the 2002 NAIAS since, and sat in one, it's fantastic. Can't wait to drive one.
