Replacement Cooper is here!

It arrived this morning and I was soon out to see it. It was straight off the trailer (the advantages of working at the dealership the car is sold from! ) and still covered in cardboard and plastic in strategic places.
It was all very exciting, looking at the nav and H/K, but it soon began to feel very famliar. After all, apart from one or two extra options it is otherwise a carbon copy of my current MINI.

I'm going to be personally fitting the new rear lamps and metal pedal set in my lunchtimes tomorrow and Friday. After that I have an MP3 CD changer to fit when it arrives.

I'll try to get a picture or two taken tomorrow.

Let's hope this one isn't a duffer!

Thanks.

No pictures I'm afraid. The batteries in my camera are shot, so I'll try again tomorrow with my mobile.

Fitted both the rear lamps, and the pedal kit today. Just the front mudflaps and a Sony MP3 CD changer to fit once it arrives.

Congrats on your car, just wondering you said you were getting the MP3/CD changer, is that linked upto your standard MINI h/k head unit, or have you got a Sony head unit aswell?

It is a Sony MP3 changer and will be connected via CD prep to the H/K head unit. Connects2 assure me it will work.

Are those standard pedals? They look different than mine?

ScottyG - Great minds think alike! Is it exactly the same as mine? Be sure to post some pics.

Interceptor - The pedals are standard on Cooper S. As mentioned above, I fitted the S pedal retrofit kit to my car. They're nice, and not too badly priced either (considering you have to change the whole accelerator, electronics and all).

why do you have to change the electronics? Plenty of aftermarket pedals out there and I haven't seen one mention of changing electronics

Not sure how the aftermarket pedals work, but with the S pedals you have to change the whole accelerator assembly. You can't just add the top piece.

See thread 'How to fit factory alloy pedals to older models' in DIY & FAQ forum.
