Offline | How about this spec? MINI Cooper CR/W Tartan red interior DSC 3-spoke MFSW Chrome bumper inserts Cold weather package Rain-sensing wipers/auto-dimming mirror Front fog lights White 8-spoke wheels Anthracite dash Rubber floor/boot mats Note that I live in Oregon (hence the bad weather options). ![]() Last edited by OregonCooper : Dec 19th, 2003 at 03:19 AM. |

| N.O.T. Member | Rasmussen yes. Ordered in July, just changed to Scheduled for Production for 1/11 today. I am getting an S though so it took a little longer. A buddy of mine found out I was getting one so went and test drove one. Ordered a cooper on the spot a MONTH after I ordered an S and his is not on a boat on the way here. He also got a CR but I think CR/B not CR/W ![]() |

Offline | So, your friend will get his MC from Rasmussen in a little over four months, & you'll get your MCS in about eight months? I would like an S, too, but I need the car by early June and want to keep the total under $20k (one reason I'm passing on the sunroof). Last edited by OregonCooper : Dec 19th, 2003 at 03:38 AM. |

Offline | Get rear fog lights as well. If only because its a bad weather option, and with DSC + Front fogs you'll have a missing toggle. For $100 its a good idea. Otherwise looks good... And remember you can order out of state if you don't want to wait, many dealers have no lists and cars in stock (but your spec isn't common, so unlikely to get what you want and not have things you don't like sunroof included without ordering) Magic 8-ball was correct. All be in awe of Magic 8 ball. |

| Some have THICK skins!!!! | good spec. but have to disagree with Zeede, don't get the Harmon Kardons. Otherwise you will be stuck with the factory head unit forever! go for an aftermarket amp and speaker upgrade if you want better sound - usually works out cheaper too. cheers Paul |

Offline | If you add Xenon's + H/K that's another 1K. I doubt your budget can handle it, even if they're good ideas... Magic 8-ball was correct. All be in awe of Magic 8 ball. |

Offline | Xenons Have the xenons been targets for thieves? I occasionally leave cars at trailheads here overnight while backpacking and wouldn't want anything that would attract thieves/vandals. The 16" wheels would be okay except that I don't want the runflats (otherwise, I'd probably get the sport package). I might add in the rear fogs since they wouldn't cost much (about $60 extra). |

Offline | Rear fogs cost $100 from the factory, if you get them after delivery, they cost $75 (but can be had for $60 with a discount - But, you need to have them programmed + installed, which depends on how much your dealer charges you, if they charge a minimum half an hour, you'll probably end up with more then $100 in costs, plus they won't be on there when your car is delivered to the dealer) Xenon's on MINIs haven't been stolen that I know of. I think the issue with theft of them is that Acura Xenon's fit hondas (and other similar things) so people will steal them and there's a market for them. I don't really see anyone buying MINI Xenons off the black market. You realize if you get 16" wheels you'll still have a spare tire? And thus you can use the runflats (which will probably last 20K miles) until they die, and then put on whatever tires you want for the rest of the car's life... Its a nice deal if you're getting an MC.. Magic 8-ball was correct. All be in awe of Magic 8 ball. |

Offline | I must respectfully disagree If you're looking for a high fidelity system (not high volume), then the Harman Kardon system is really great. There isn't a great deal of space to work with when you're talking about the Mini, so with most aftermarket systems you have space and quality-of-fit issues. The Harman Kardon produces wonderfully high quality sound, without taking up any more cabin room than the stock system does, and without any vibration, buzzing, or rattling. That said, I concede the possibility that there are better systems around that will fit, but considering the price tag + labor I'm dubious you can do all that for under $550 US. |
