It's the vortex of filth.
Flaps just help the guy behind you. If you watch real close, on a rainy day you're throwing rooster tails about 30 meters behind you

Congrats on your new MINI, but washing it is a labour of love - that said I've not cleaned mine for 3 weeks or so and it is really really filthy now

Question MINI filth!

Is there really no way to keep the back of a MINI cleaner? At the moment it is taking me about 4 days post-clean before I can no longer read the rear number plate (hmmm, I wonder about those Gatso's.....). The sides of the car are virtually spotless!

I'm also using washer fluid by the gallon just to see our of the back. It doesn't help that it insist on squirting a whole load over the xenons every time I wash the windscreen - looks pretty cool though!

Oh, and by the way, congrats to Celicaboy. I swapped mine for an MCS and never looked back. Enjoy!

Don't do it!

My better half was encouraged to get them by her driving school colleagues to keep the back of the car cleaner, and in spite of being advised against them by the salesman went ahead.

They don't look good and don't do much either - the tailgate still gets filthy.

They cost £6.50 for the fronts and £15.00 for the rears........ but the sting was the £148.05 for fitting!

She won't bother on her next MNI!

MINI facts of life:

1) MINI's are a hoot to drive
2) MINI's are very addictive
3) MINI's get filthy very very quickly.

See this thread for examples...

Anyways, if it helps any, I'm came to MINI from a tweaked Supra. I haven't looked back...

That dealer must have had big windows!

I agree. It was about 1½ hours at around £100ph, incl VAT.
