United-States Future Cooper Owner has a question.

I would like to order a Cooper in the Spring or Summer of '04. I would very much like to get the Indi Blue Color as well as the Getrag 5-speed if possible. Any info on when the IB color will cease and when the Getrag will begin?

Thanks for your help!!

Talking Hi & Welcome to MINI2!!!

I have herd rumors about the Indi Blue changing to a darker more richer blue. I will try to find that article, but I am guessing they will not make any severe changes (like body color) until mid Summer yearly Fall when the 2005 MINI comes out, so I would look at buying in the Spring time. So u have nothing to worry about

Nathan

Here is the thread on the Getrag 5 speed: http://www.mini2.com/forum/future-variants/38253-mini-gearboxes-getrag-5-speed-new-2004-a.html

And as per the various '05 news articles and rumors, Indi should be around until the '05 update, which in the US would be July '04 production.

So basically if you're planning on getting the car before August '04 you should be fine.

Magic 8-ball was correct. All be in awe of Magic 8 ball.

Unhappy I found the article

I found the article about the new MINI it is:Rumors about the Indi Blue color change But it seems it will be introduced in mid 2004, so I do not think u will be able to get the transmission and the Indi Blue . You may want to e-mail MINI at their website to get a concrete answer.

Hope this helps

Nope - I don't think so - all those changes are appearing on cars now. I overheard, at my dealership, a phonecall to a very irate customer over price increases and option changes!

Indi Blue is no longer available as a speccable option. Instead you can have Electric Blue (too common now IMHO but thats not to say it's not a corking colour) or Hyper Blue (MCS & Cabrio Only, from memory), which I think is gorgeous - not as light as EB, but lighter by a few shades than IB.

The Getrag has now replaced the (IMHO inferior) Midland unit on all new cars.

Of course I might be completely wrong so feel free to correct me.....!

MINI Going.....Toyota Supra RZ-S Twin Turbo Coming....Standing Quarter, anyone....?

Your dealer is probably filling orders for July builds, (Aug delivery for those of us across the Pond) which means that all of the mentioned changes will be in place.

There are some dealers at least over here that may have a few spaces left for June builds, (July delivery over here) in which case the changes wouldn't be phased in yet.
