Question Break-in procedures - Any suggestions?

Hello all!

I'm expecting my new Mini Cooper soon, and I love it already so I want to be treating to it very nicely from the very beggining. That's why I'd like to know what's best about the engine for the break-in "warm-up" season.

I found the online manual somewhere, and it says:

"Up to 1,200 miles (2,000 km):
Attempt to constantly vary both vehicle and engine speed during these initial miles while remembering to avoid engine speeds in excess of 4,500 rpm and/or vehicle speeds of over 95 mph (150 km/h). Absolutely avoid using the full-throttle or kickdown position for the accelerator.
Once you have driven 1,200 miles (2,000 km), both the engine and vehicle speed can be gradually increased."

From your experience, is this enough? Would you suggest anything else besides these procedures? I will be primarily moving inside the city, but I'll also be doing a 300 KM trip every other week or so ((150 to go and another 150 to come back).

Thanks a lot!
