Offline | Redhotmini, if I'm going to spend this ammount on a car, it will be built to my spec, and my spec alone. I've yet to see a second hand or pre-specced car taht is EXACTLY what I want. And I'm a fussy git. ![]() There aint no party like my nana's tea party |

Offline | Re: Too soon! You'll need to tell me your Dealer... I emailed Harry Fairbairn Giffnock, Glasgow yesterday about delivery times... and just got the following reply: "Further to your recent e-mail, I am replying to let you know that delivery for MINI Coopers is currently around June/July." ...yikes... they must be popular or something ![]() |

Offline | Re: Re: Too soon! Morrisons of Kircaldy if you're interested! They did say that my car had arrived a few weeks earlier than expected but weren't the only dealer who reckoned on an eight week delivery time when I ordered. I wonder if winning various 'Car of the Year' awards plus exports worldwide have stretched timescales since then.....? The rave previews of the S in Autocar and Auto Express today won't help! |

Offline | Re: Re: Re: Too soon! Cheers mate - I'll keep your dealer in mind. What you say about timescales did cross my mind. If I ordered today, would expect June/July delivery... but if I delayed ordering for a month or so... I wonder how much longer delivery would be. Too many if's and but's me thinks! |

Offline | Just happened to be going past my dealers today, could'nt not go it and has Hi. Mark the sales man knew me straight away (alway nice to be reconised) Told him just poped in to see how the order for the MINI is going. He looked it up and i've got a Chassis and Chassis number. Ordered on the 22/2/2002 and on the computor loged at 11.52 and 29 seconds. I'm on build week 14, read somewhere that the steering pull would be sorted on all cars after week 9 (I hope so) week 14 is the week directly after the Easter break. there's a 5000 car build that week (arn't computors great) after build on to inspection if it passes that its expected at the dealers around the 16/4/02 and i hope to get it on the 18 or 19/4/02 (by then i'll have worked out days hours and seconds i've had to wait) And NO I'm not Obsessive. Well ok maybe just a little bit. |

Ordered on the 22/2/2002 a My dealer reckons that they won't have a clue when my car is due for delivery until it leaves the factory. Are they telling me porkies? It was supposed to be this weekend, but every time I ring they say they have no info and that it was probably because I changed the spec last minute. I changed from CD Boost to MD Boost on 18 Feb - well before they told me the spec had been submitted for build. |

Offline | I was going to change the colour, but they said my spec had been finalised. If I wanted to change, I would had to wait longer. So I didn't bother! Hyper Blue/Blue MCSC with Chilli 'No man will make a great leader who wants to do it all himself' A. Carnegie |

Offline | Talking to my dealer on Saturday to give him the spec for my replacement Cooper, and he said a Cooper ordered now would be a September delivery! Their orders for the Cooper have recently gone mad!! And as for the "S". They have sold all this years and you would be looking at mid to late January!!! One good thing he told me though. If I wanted an "S" for this time next year, he would guarantee that I would only loose a few hundred pounds at the most on my replacement Cooper!! He said if I advertised it privately, I would probably get more than I paid for it new!!!! Got me thinking! He also told me that they had a new Cooper delivered to them as a dealer car (Yellow, black stripes, silver "S" spoke 17" wheels. Nice). He said he used it last week and he can feel the difference in build quality from last years build. A lot better!! ![]() |
