Offline | Looking to buy MC - questions Im looking to buy a new '04 MC in IB/White roof, chilli pack, ASC+T,Visibility pack. Got a couple of questions, looking for alot of help!!!1) Am I missing something important on my spec? 2) Does the spoiler that comes with Chilli pack have brake light in it? 3) I have a standard sony HU, will it replace the cassette HU as standard? 4) as this is my first ever car is there anything i should specifically ask the dealer? 5) What is the best finance the dealer can offer? APR etc.. (i know thats a bit of a hard one!!) 6) What dealer fitted options are available?? (thinking of hagling the dealer down a bit on these!) 7) Looking to buy at either Boldon (Mill) or Silverlink (Priory), i leave inbetween both in Newcastle, anyone dealt with these before/ what free stuff did they get (or discount!) I know a lot of you will be sick of posts like this but i really need help. Thanks for any replies. |

| Gutter Princess | Sounds lovely. Chilli pack pretty much has everything you need... Don't think you'll get anything free... if anything ask for your tlc free.. They might think you're a bit cheeky but it's worth a go, and the tlc is worth a bomb in peace of mind terms... I think the spoiler does have the brake light in (wracking my brains to remember!!). Can't help with finance I'm afraid. Keep us updated!! ![]() |

Offline | The spioler definately has a brake light in it (I have 1). And I agree you prob wont be able to haggle much for extras they are pretty tight as the mini is in demand. Make sure you get tlc though, oh and the sony head set will fit but may not wrk with multifunction steering wheel if you decide to get that, the multifuncyion wheel is 1 of my fav extras and comes in handy never had cruise control b4 and now I love it!!!!! When it comes to apr I read on here somewhere that BMW finance'd lowest figure is 4.5% on a new car! I got a 2nd hand mini and could not get BMW finance had to get black horse (the other company they deal with) and got slammed with 12.5% they would not budge! but if new car then aim for a lot closer to 5% |

Offline | Nice choice of car, colour and options. To clarify some of your questions: Yes, the Sony HU will fit but you might want to consider a MINI CD and the HK sound upgrade. Its expensive (£450 I think) but if you like your sounds its well worth it. I'd also agree that air-con is worth every penny. I'd never had it on any car before, but wouldn't be without it now. Finance is a tricky one. The rate the dealer offers you can depend on all sorts of factors, like how well you did with the trade-in price of your old car or discounts (not that you get many from BMW! ) you've already haggled.Definately go for TLC. The only thing I managed to haggle out of my dealer was bonnet stripes (£50). A small victory, but a victory none the less!! Post some pics when you get it. |

Offline | Thanks for the help everyone looking to do something in the next couple of weeks. One quick question if someone has been in a similar situation: I dont have anything to trade in and peugeot offered me a £500 discount on a 10k car as i was buying it new. Any experiences of people getting a bit more on this basis? |

Offline | Air con, MFSW, heated washer jet and wing mirrors, TLC, CD Changer Prep, Boot Socket, alloys upgrade perhaps ![]() I could not wait for Vis Pack when I bought Apple, and I have lived without it quite happily so far. However, if you live in an area that is cold, then you should consider Vis Pack because of the heated windscreen ![]() Standard spoiler is fitted over the brake light so as not to obsure it ![]() Since this is your first car, I would suggest you get a personalised plate if you can afford it, and get the dealer to register your car with that number plate - you should save the transfer fee this way (fee = 80 GBP back in 2002). However, I am not 100% sure about the transfer fee bit though as I am going by my memory when I bought my first car - bought the reg and got my then dealer to register the new car with it at no cost to me as it was already paid for ![]() Can't help with the other queries, hope the above help ![]() DK :apple: |

Offline | I doubt if you could get much of a discount ![]() Just look at the cherished MINI prices - they hold their values very well because there is a big demand for them ![]() Therefore, good luck with the bargaining with the dealer ![]() You could always try playing one dealership off with another though ![]() DK :apple: |
