Offline | In South Africa you're allowed to have flamethrowers that fire 10ft from under the sills. That way you can let the ******* get close then watch them burn. I wonder if they smell good. I might even wee on them to put them out. More to the point though mate, glad you're alright. That's pretty messed up. The downside to the good security on the minis is people try harder to get them. |

Offline | Mind you, if they smash your window and block you in, there's not much you would be able to do. Then it would just be a case of letting them have the car, and getting yourself outta there! That's scary stuff matey, glad to hear you (and Mini) were ok. |

Offline | Whilst Brierley Hill isn't the most wonderful of places, it does concern me that this sort of thing is happening so close to home (I only live in Kingswinford). I think I may have seen your car parked around the back of the shops in Amblecote a few months ago, it made my filthy IB/W Cooper look very badly looked after... ![]() |

Offline | Wow... sounds like its getting bad over there. I'v seen a few cases over here on the news of car jackers taking cars with the owner stuck in the seat belt being draged on the road. There was one case localy (I think... don't remeber exact location) where they took the car while the owner's baby was still in the car seat in the back. Luckly he turned himself in after seeing the baby in the back. I rember seeing on a tech show long time ago about cars that shoot tear gass so you can get away. That sounds a little more humane than flame thowers ![]() |

Offline | To get my 4x4 insured here in Lithuania I had to have an anti-carjacking system fitted. I carry a small transponder in my pocket. When I move out of range the fuel pump cuts off. Luckilly, I didnt need to have one in my MINI as I was worried that the butchers who fit it wouldnt have a clue about the MINIs complex system. I believe that mikethemini fits them in the UK though. As he knows everything about MINI's it might be an option if you live in a dodgy area or dont have something sharp and pointy under the seat! They are too ubiquotous to work here now though. All those tea leaves know about them and point a big knife at you until you hand over the transponder. Luckilly, no-one here really knows what a MINI is. If its not a Audi, beemer or merc they leave it alone. ![]() WhatCar? Claim: “As hot hatches go, it’s hotter than a blacksmith’s armpit.” |
