Offline | Rob, I only ever use optimax in the car, and it costs about £35 when it's low. From that you should get between 250-300 miles out of a tank, al though i never let it get that low. Also it depends how much fun you have Olly |

| The Hartge Experience | Hi guys, thanks for that. The only reason i ask, is in my current car, i struggle to get a week out of it as i can only get 28 quid in (optimax 28 quid!!!!!). I only ever use optimax aswell. £35 is much better for me, as It just saves me going on a week night after work, i can just do it at weekends at my lesure!!! cheers, rob |

Offline | My last fill cost £33.66 (42.71 l, 393.8 miles / 633.6 km). More typically, I expect to get around 350 miles for 40 litres (or just after the low fuel warning light comes on). This costs about £32. (BTW, my Cooper seems perfectly happy running on Sainsburys 95 RON or whatever else is cheapest near where I live. I've yet to come across any convincing independent evidence that premium fuels, such as Optimax or BP Ultimate, have any benefits that outweigh their extra cost) |

Offline | I've never had an empty tank but have put about £32- worth of petrol in a couple of times with about 1/8 tank left. Reagrding consumption, I've got the trip computer as part of the Chilli pack so check this regularly. I normally get 31 or 32 mpg travelling to and from work and about 1/2 of the journey is in fairly heavy traffic. On a run the most I've seen is 34mpg, but I do tend to cruise at around 90 on the motorways and accelerate fairly briskly especially out of the bends on twisty roads. ![]() Cook1e http://cars.cookiehome.co.uk/ ![]() 2,000 Miles Round Britain in 48 Hoours in a 37 year old Classic car, Please Sponsor me:- http://www.rbrr.cookiehome.co.uk |
