Question Xenon Light Problem

Been experiencing a problem with my Xenons the past couple weeks. I took a trip up where there's not too many streetlights and noticed all of a sudden my headlamp alignment was pointing WAY too far down towards the road. They're only shining about 10-15m in front of the car, and it's extremely difficult to see the road in front without any streetlights.

While I will be taking it to the dealer to have it fixed under the warranty (hope it's covered - still not acquainted fully with it having just picked up my Cooper on 21 June) I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem or if it's a common occurence. Really irritating having to take the car in seeing as every mechanic leaves at 5pm around here

Silly question but it caught me out yesterday.

Is the headlight level adjuster set to 0, by the side of the steering column?

i had this same problem with my non-xenons & the dealer replaced the headlamp under warranty. seems the levelling motor (which is common to xenons & non-xenons) is prone to failure. Its been a fairly common fault

No headlight adjuster on Xenons-Thats only for Halogens-Xenons self level themselves accordingly

The MINI Xenons adjust very quicky-Other cars with Xenons mostly like my old Clio, take longer to self level, so if you put your foot down front lifts up and will of course blind others.

On the memtion fo blinding people I still find Xenons much more bareable than the the Non Xenon halogens that are not adjusted correctly. Lost count of number bashed up old cars with their lights set to high

I just wanted to follow up on this and ask if anyone else has had problems with their lights pointing downwards or not levelling properly (Xenons).

I've had them looked at twice by two different dealers now. The first saw nothing wrong and the second said they replaced the lights - but there's been no change to their alignment. Am I getting screwed over here, or is this a genuine issue with the Cooper?
