OMG ...MINI hurt!

On way home from work last night, was tootling down the M6, cruise control set at 77mph, and boing, whack! Something hit the windscreen

When I got home, double eeek!! Big (1cm long) scratch on bonnet and a bit of a dent, am gutted

What can I do peeps?? Thinking of giving someone like Chips Away a ring, but am quite worried about the colour match with Astro being new....

Poor Mini, thats such a shime Ben hope your Okay, you cant even pop to halfords to get a black scratch/pen cause it is a mix black\blue\gray. I know it will be expensive but take it to the dealer!

Unlucky dude

I agree with Rich though, that's gonna be a dealer job. Not worth risking it on a brand new car

i'd let them do it, tho i aint 100% sure if BMW do accident repairs themselves. Not spraying anyways. Dealers normally dont. Tho i aint 100% with MINI as they do their own insurance thing.

Will perhaps take it up on Friday,m when I am next off, although my BMW/MINI dealer uses local Ford bodyshop, I think, and they really ed up a repair on my Dad's old Honda. But can always see what they say, cos there is a Audi dealer in the same group that uses a Jaguar dealer's bodyshop (incidentally, Dad's A4 is having to make a trip there - he's not a bad driver, just people bash his car when it's parked!!?!)

Sorry to hear about your dent and scratch. Hope it doesn't cost too much. I once got hit by a flying road sign on a dual carriage way and stood no chance of getting out of the way!

Dang, sorry to hear mate

My 5 weeks old MCS got hammered with a massive stone on a drive day a few weeks back. Right on the front of the bonnet next to the grille. A good dent and three chips off the paint

Last weekends drive day; copped a chip in the windscreen from a rock thrown up by the MINI infront.

Gutted. But what can you do?

I think Im going to get the dent on the bonnet fixed though. It annoys me

Good luck with whatever you choose to do

Scotty

Eventually got the dent sorted - got a mate who does paintless dent removal, and he sorted it and will get rewarded with a few pints at som e point. Now just need to get the paint sorted out - have got the touch up from BMW, eventually... Anyone know anyone with a steady hand?!

When you say scratch... is it actually a scratch IN the paintwork, or has the scratch gone through the main paintwork and showing the undercoat?

If it is just a scratch in the top coat... you will be amazed what miricles can be done with T-Cut and a bit of elbow grease... and you don't need to be an expert to do it!
