Offline | cooper spot lights (x4) New Cooper arrived today and very pleased with "Poppy", dealer had fitted 4 spotlights to car instead of a customer's with same surname who was picking their car up after ours. Initially said we could have them for £200 (said they should cost more than £700!!!! which seems very expensive). Alternatively, they would remove them. They then said this would leave holes behind, so we could have them for free. I read here a while ago that BMW had instructed dealers not to fit 4 spotlights due to restricted airflow through grille, but several cars had them fitted for the new registration deliveries today. Also, the car has the 2 spoke mutilfunction steering wheel. The on/off resume buttons light up at night, but not the set +/- buttons. Is this correct and if not, does it need a new sterring wheel assembly or can the affected component be changed? Cheers in advance for your help |

Offline | I think you will find that the problem with fitting 4 spots only affects the MCS, as it affects the airflow to the bonnet scoop, or something similar. Keep them, unless you are driving in the countrside at night all the time, and no daylight driving, I can't see the battery running out...wish I got some free ones. ![]() |

Offline | i have 4 operational spot lamps fitted, and yeh its a drain on the batteries, but how often do you drive will your full beam on? besides, you're driving so the power consumption is covered. i'd keep all of em, otherwise disconnect two, but dont remove em. |

| I Just Can't Get Enough | i have 4 on an MCS and don't have any problems with airflow or cooling I have heard this about BMW and the spots but i think they ae just covering their backs and being over cautious But 4 spots on main beam at night is awesome I wouldn't be without them now ![]() ![]() |
