Can anybody tell me if the Cooper std factory fit radio cassette (Non Boost) has the facility to fit an Auxillary connection to it to take an iriver mp3 player.

Looked in the manual (ICE section) and there is no mention of the aux facility. I also tried to select aux on the HU but nothing appears to be available.

P.S. Its a Mar 1st 05 reg car so I would assume it was manufactured in Jan-Feb 05.

Belive it or not I seached for quite a while for exactly that info but still failed to find it.

I can add an aux to it depending on spec, does your car have a cd changer?

Hi Mikey,

No CD its the bog std wave radio/casette, I only chose it because I thought I could play the iriver MP3 through it via an Aux cable.

I guess its plan B now.

This is not a problem. Almost any electronics store should have a cassette insert that will allow you to hook up any CD or mp3 player. I have a huge cllection of cassette tapes, so I have always ordered my cars with cassette players, and have used this gadget in my cars for years. It looks like a standard cassette, but it has a wire sticking out of the end of it with the appropriate jack at the other end to fit an mp3 or CD player.
