Your Mini Mileage reading?

I just need to have a general feeling when exactly I should start worrying about the car at what mileage?

So, Whats the mileage on your mini?
How does it run so far?

Worrying as regards what? Next service, re-sale value?

Mine has 17,000 kms on the clock - getting towards 11,000 miles - and it runs like a dream

I've done 8000 in 3 months, and not travelled further than 100 miles from my house.

Angry

Mine has 57 000km/ 36 000 miles and from feb 2002, and has had:

- new gearbox (56 000km)
- two new window motors (55 000km)
- new front suspension (40 000km)
- new steering column (35 000km) - now broken again
- new rear silencer (25 000km)
- new boost CD radio (cd stopped working) (22 000km)
- new auxiliary belt (7000km)
- numerous engine software updates, still not sorted
- gearbox linkage detached (6000km)

and now the clutch is more than half worn too! So START WORRYING NOW(!!) is my advice. Good luck.

I'm seriously concerened about the number of elements that have required replacing - are these isolated?

I wish I was a senior BMW technician !!!!!

18,600 miles in 9 months and my MINI is driving better than ever! Initially I found the gearbox stiff but it has loosened up nicely, and the engine didn't loosen up properly until about 10k miles. I have no idea why people complain about Cooper performance for city driving it's great, much more fun to drive than the 140bhp Toyota Celica which was forced on me by my employer.

My faults so far:

1) Faulty Harmon Kardon speaker replaced
2) Passenger seat stuck in recline - seat frame replaced

And that's it...

Before I got my MINI I was considering getting a job nearer home, but now I look forward to my commute and there's no higher praise than that

PS my mate's supposed 'quality' VW Polo has had loads of problems. He's buying a MINI One D.

7000miles in 5 months that gonna be like 14000 a year But I love every minute of it and the only prob I have had 'touch wood' is a faulty immobiliser which only failed once and has been fine since

Just under 5000 miles in 4 months.... a few creaks & rattles a dirty window trim (fixed), a clutch noise (the one everyone has which went after a couple of thousand miles and needed no attention)

it gets even better & better to drive, so grins all round

Almost 21,000 miles since October '03. The boot latch rattled initially, but I quieted that with the scotch tape trick. The tape fell off after a few thousand miles, but the car stayed completely quiet for some reason. Otherwise, no trouble, which is pretty good given that I learned to drive a stick on it.

United-States

Took delivery 2/8/03; 28,900 miles so far and I've been lucky to have NO problems (except for the obligatory windscreen stress fracture ). Took a 2,600 mile trip last summer and a 1,200 mile trip a week later. Currently planning an expedition this June to Indianapolis for the USGP via Canada. Based upon the comments in many threads, it appears that the build quality improved greatly as time went on.

I've done a few - about 22,000 miles since September '03. 23 miles to work and 20 back again (I travel different routes coming and going) and lots of 180 mile round trips to watch Doncaster Rovers play at Doncaster (I'm a season ticket holder) are taking their toll.

Still, the car has seemed a bit quicker this last week or two. Maybe it's loosening up a bit.

Just broke 40,000 miles this weekend. A few electrical problems early on, but no problems at all for the last 15-20,000 miles or so.

7,300 since August. Love it. On thing though, the Service Engine Soon light came on yesterday. I guess it's time for a trip to the dealer- always up for a 3hr drive.

20,000 miles since June 2004. Had an oil change. Is that a problem?

Oh, I rotated the tires, too.

My MCS seems a bit faster now....
