United-States "Heavy Clutch"...

can someone describe what that is supposed to be? Hard to depress? Engages early? Engages when mostly depressed? Thank you.

I'm no expert in the automotive engineering industry, but my definition of a heavy clutch has nothing to do with the bite point, just the amount of force required to depress the pedal. I would describe my clutch as nicely weighted!

Ole Lawro is correct. though I would also add hard to release Heavy clutch means you have to press really hard and it also pushes back really hard so it is hard to modulate......as in "that fecking truck sure has a heavy clutch"....and it is directly related (nowadays that they are all hydraulically actuated) to the amount of spring pressure applied by the pressure plate. The hgher torque/hp an application, the higher the spring rate needed to hold it.....as in "sure wish I hadn't gotten that competition clutch in my MINI, is sure is HEAVY!.....
