Offline | How many miles on Cooper Spark Plugs? Curious to know if anyone has changed the spark plugs in their Cooper and what condition were they in. I think the manual said 90,000 miles, but that sounds rather long to me. I know my dealer said the air filter was good for 60,000 , and when she quit runnin at 18,000, the air filter was completly plugged.(change my air filter every 10,000 miles since that fiasco) I'm old school, seems way too long for me between plugs. any thoughts?... dr remulac |

Offline | Hi, Similar story from dealer, last service was at 41K and last week I checked the airfilter and it was finished (43k miles), don't think its ever been changed. Just replaed the filter and plugs, which in my opinion also needed changing. I have to say that my fuel economy is a bit better following this. I agree, changing oil every 10-12 K, filters and plugs every 40-50k just seems common sense ![]() Moto |

Offline | Thanks for that plug info MOTOBUG. yeh, I been changing my oil every 5,000 and my air filter every 10,000. MY mileage has slipped a lil along with the power. I'm approaching 38,000 and I'm gonna swap out the plugs for sure. Offhand, do you know the number of those plugs so I don't have to pull one to find out? thanks dr remulac |

Offline | Hi, I have replaced mine with NGK Iridium plugs, might be a bit of an over kill but they are not much more expensive in the UK than standard. Part number is BKR6EIX-11 The following site will give you a list of NGK replacements: http://www.ngksparkplugs.com Hope this helps. If you are changing filters and don't want to go down the induction route, I would recommend the K&N replacement panel filter. No difference to noise level but its much better quality than the standard paper replacement. Although these are supposed to last for life, for what they cost I will pop a new one in every 15K. Thanks Moto |
